NMA: Fallout 3 character stats page

There have been multiple questions submitted asking whether NMA was just going to ignore Fallout 3 like it did Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel.

Well, we're not planning to, though we're not hootin' or hollerin' either. We plan to provide our readers with clear and concise info of everything they need on Fallout 3: quests, items, weapons, walkthroughs, the whole shebang.

To get to an early start on the dawn of release, we have opened a Fallout 3 character page with (well-known) info on stats, skills, perks (including a few of the quest-gained ones) and radiation effects, with a big thanks to TwinkieGorilla for handiwork on that one. Expect more after release.

And don't forget, we're encouraging everyone to get revved up for Fallout 3 modding.

I must say, I'm glad to hear that. I've been a fan of the site since it first popped up and it'd be a bit dissapointing if you had gone the other way.

I think the decision is a good one as while many here would instantly proclaim Fallout 3 to be a lesser game than it's predecessors (F1 and F2 to be exact) there are few here who'd compare it unfavorably to Brotherhood of Steel. And while Tactics was an iffy sequel, it's still covered here.
To ignore Fallout 3 would be to throw away NMA's reputation as one of the best Fallout fan sites out there. You gotta take the good with the bad.
Though I don't think anyone blames you for not covering BoS.

As for the construction set and Fallout 3 Modding. My own fingers are crossed that they'll release the tools as they did with earlier games. Considering the quality of work we saw with F2 mods (and those were using some unpleasant tools) I can't wait to see what would come out using something as impressive as the oblivion engine's construction set.

So, once again. Good show.

Neither Tactics, nor BOS were marketed as sequels.

I believe modding will be FO3's only hope of redemption. The fans can make a Fallout that should have been. Like the Restoration mod for FO2. I know Oblivion was almost unplayable for me without extensive modding. Please please make a mod to remove slow motion explosive anatomy lesson!

Not all Fallout fans believe Fallout 3 is a travesty. In fact, there are many who are eagerly anticipating this game.

Sigh... I don't mean that it won't be a fun game. I look forward to playing it. I just hope some fan modding will make it more like the Fallout games I played in highschool. From what I've seen of FO3 it'll be fun but far from nostalgia inducing.

I can't see any of the images.

's because i used disappearing ink.

in all seriousness though, these may just be placeholder images. they were from almost indiscernible & fuzzy images in a pdf file. with some of them i was surprised i got them in the "discernible" range at all to be honest. anyway, i'll most likely be taking screens from the actual game as i play it (i.e. on my own damn time, thank you very much) so don't start griping that they look shitty or i'll find out where you live and kill you with my dick which i'll have by then sharpened into a flaming sword.

Twinkie was it bntest

Did he make you fail

Because how else could you fail

So hard

So, with no random encounters is there any real point to Luck?

In a related note, are critical failures still in? Sucks that "Jinxed" got removed (and not merely turned into a perk like other traits).

I loved jinxed. Put luck all the way up and get the Jinxed trait. Most of the time my enemies would critically kill themselves. It was hilarious.

But yes, there really is no point to luck anymore. They should have renamed SPECIAL to just SPECIA.

Really unrelated note: There should also be a poll up on how many people are going to buy fallout 3. We have had that same out Brotherhood of Steel one forever.

Bethesda didn't want to "jinx" their game into being a "critical failure" so they removed both concepts from the game.

Oh very well played indeed sir! :ok:

Beth's combined Oblivion and Fallout and have created a fine masterpiece that I now dub as Oblivious...

When you choose the Explorer perk, every location in the world is revealed on your map. So get out there and explore!
What.
I really hate some of those perks. Especially the ones that are actually traits minus the negative effects.

It's a shame a lot of the good stuff from F1/2 are no longer there, even the silly ones.
