NMA: Fallout 3 quests and more items

We have been steadily chipping away at Fallout 3 info, so here's another update...

zazoum's interactive map has been updated to 1.6 and now contains such handy little bits as a search function and a list of all locations for a number of skill books and other items. The location list has been updated to list all Fat Man, Mini Nuke and Behemoth locations.

We have added a quest guide, consisting of main quests (including ending configurations), optional quests and freeform quests, freeform quests being interesting mini-tasks not listed on your PipBoy.

We've updated the item guide to include pages on armor, skill books, chems and food 'n drink. Thanks again Makagulfazel for most of the item guide.

I think that's pretty much it on the Fallout 3 info front; we now have a guide to followers, items, quests, maps and some miscellaneous extra tidbits of info. We'll possibly add a bestiary and if anyone has requests or comments feel free.

Our Little Secret - Old Man Harris; Arefu

In Arefu, talk to Old Man Harris to get wind of something being fishy about this place. Talk to the other residents for more hints about the "family business".

It's not Arefu, it's Andale. :)

Otherwise, great info.

Cheers. It's little errors like that that slip through.

Yep. I've read all the quest pages and didn't find anything else, though. Great work :salute:

Found a small one in "You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head"
SpeechBoy: convince Dave to give you the key, and you can get extra info from him about fort Constantine ...
SpeechBoy: steal the key from Dave
StealthBoy for the last one I'd guess.
Also, is it deliberate that the T-51b is not listed under rewards?

Cheers.

Not overly deliberate, I never really considered it. T-51b is more like a peripheral item you can pick up during or after the quest and there's plenty of those in a lot of the quests. I'm not even sure why the quest closes when you pick it up, nor does the game offer an explanation.

So I dunno, considering you can pick it up after the quest it's not so much a reward as an item related to the quest. Which is why it's listed with the quest.

in the freeform "Slave Hunt" quest i lockpicked Sister's room and waited for him to go to sleep, i killed him with my ripper but i dont remmember the karma reward. later on Mei Wong was telling me that Sister had been killed...
i only mention because this alternative was not mentioned.

Addition to "Tranquility Lane" section

There's actually yet another way to complete the Tranquility Lane section.

The old lady mentions something about a fail safe device. You have to play music by interacting with the objects in the abandoned house. The order is broken radio -> glass pitcher -> garden gnome -> glass pitcher -> cinder block -> garden gnome - empty bottle.

This opens up a fail-safe terminal that runs a "Chinese Invasion" scenario killing all the residents and allowing you to leave after talking with Betty.

On the items:

1. No Cat's Paw? bravo, bethesda.

2. No withdrawal from drugs?  bravissimo, bethesda.

3. Let me guess: (havent played the game yet). Addiction only subtracts HP over time? or is there another effect as well?

4. At least alcohol can be addictive, and have a negative effect. And i like the +1 Charisma, too. The original games never gave you any reason to drink alcohol.

Why does it lower intelligence instead of perception though? Oh i know. These guys at bethesda are so talented they just had to do their own thing, right? right. Same reason why other drug effects are changed, there's no super stimpacks, etc. etc.

It never has prevented my character from doing it. :)

Yeah, mine too.
I was roleplaying Bukowski the other day, and i thought a little + to Charisma wouldnt be so bad while he's drunk. You know, party animal and all.

Some pictures would be nice. The pages seem a bit... drab.

It was not a priority to take care of a great aesthetic; I didn't want to make one of those useless guides that're all over the 'net, like on UGO or Planet Fallout, but simply a core of info to reference.

It's still low priority to add pictures, but we will I guess.

That's already in there.
