Hey guys! Thanks a million for the total LACK of support my channel got! I expected a little bigger response than nothing at all. Geez, even Miroslav just up and ignored me. After repeated polite mail requests. He showed a little interest in the beginning, then he just stopped responding to my mails. Oh well, that channel can just go ahead and rot.

I'm sorry if this sounds a bit cynical, but why would anyone *want* to chat on NMADALnet? I mean seriously, there are only about 50 active members, and people are from all over the world, and quite frankly the messageboard takes enough time as it is! Also I'm not about to patrol a chat room (even if Miroslav ordered me).

The messageboard is the place to be.

I did make that channel just so people could come and talk in real-time. I also did it to save you guys the ache of having to construct a java-chat on this page, which I know can be a real bitch. Patrolling chat rooms isn't hard, most of the time you just run a script and idle while doing other things, thats what most people do. Oh well.

Can't you just accept NO ONE is interested in your proposal?

Because you're simply bothering! And you're starting to bother all of us with your unuseful repeated mails.

And finally, the last thing you can do is being angry with the community because we aren't in debt with you, there is no reason why we MUST support your idea.
If no one likes your idea then, like you said, NMA on DALnet IS DEAD.

But who called for Java chat or even chat itself? To tell you the truth, you're the only person I've seen mention chat of any sort. I just don't see the demand.

It's not a matter of it being easy or anything, I won't do it. I'm not leaving my computer on all day running a bot, using my bandwidth, to monitor a channel I won't even visit.

But it would be a good idea for events, though. Like "the demo is out now! Join nma channel on dalnet and talk about what you thought", or "let`s have a debate on the community tomorrow, drinks on the house "(er, sort of).
Besides that i don`t see the point in having a chat, there`s really not much demand, and those that want to chat inside the community go to vault13 chat.

And that kind of information is just *so* useful to my everyday gaming life that I don't know where I'd be without it. At least my proposal could have been of help to this site and board and users.

Xotor, You wouldn't have to leave your computer on or anything like that. It seems you all need a crash course in IRC to not hate it so much.

Again, I just made it as a place for all of us NMA boarders to crash and get realtime feedback and details about things like briosafreak said. I don't know why you people think you need to have your computers on all the time. And MatuX, I would assume by the gracious lack of interest I'm not bothering anyone but you, and about that I care not, because this is the first time you've shown up in this topic.

There is a definite difference between a board which is accessed quite often and enjoyed by many, and a chat room which nobody does or will visit for lack of interest. Face the facts, if people wanted to use your chat room on DALnet they would have. Obviously people just don't have the time, or frankly don't care.

It's interesting to quite a few people. NMA on DALnet is frankly, unintersting, and if it were the opposite, there would be a lot of people on NMA/DAL. Do you think anyone would hang out on this General Board if they were uninterested?

It's like complaining that nobody visits the "Web Site" board.

Intent is nice, but if the public has no interest, there's no purpose.

That's nice, and I commend you for your effort, but the masses have spoken. Maybe leave NMADAL up so people can use it if they want, but you can't force us, and you shouldn't whine when we don't use it.

Like Miroslav, Xotor, and everyone who visits NMA, I'm part of the community, everyone has the right to say what they think, and I used that right.

Oh well... Its seems you didn't understand the whole meaning of the phrase "General Discussion Board"... I will explain this once: This is a fucking *GENERAL* discussion board. The COMMUNITY board. The FRIENDS board. That is why there is a **Fallout General** board and a **General** board. I think you will be intelligent enough to discern their differences.

You should had seen Psycho's thread about AT&T... When you receive a call from a company which tries to sell you something that doesn't interest you, you just say "no". But what about if they start calling you everyday? Asking you to buy their products? And finally, they start whinning because you didn't bought them. Wouldn't that molest you?

Anyway, I would recommend you to stop crying like a kid because no one is interested on your proposal and accept the fact that if no one is, no one will.

Like Odin say, we could just use it for special events, but apart from that, the Message Board is the best way to succesfully communicate people from different parts of the world.

I'll keep the place maintained, and if anyone would be interested they can swing by.

You can express your thoughts, but flooding a place with them? I mean, I saw like 5 or 6 threads with you talking about NMA on DALnet and the lack of interest you were receiving.

I think it's not allowed to flame someone without a good reason, but you can freely cuss in a moderated way. In other words, it's a matter of balancing and discerning between what is good and bad.

I've always thought so. We just don't like it in flames or in the message subjectline (with exceptions sometimes).
