No ghouls appearing at recruit pool

JohnnyCasey

First time out of the vault
Helped the ghouls at Quincy, but no ghoul recruits. Why is this sh!t keep happening?

Only thing I can think of it as a cause of this are either -
* All the prostitutes are dead; Hardly the case.
* I've never talked to recruit master at Bunker Beta before; Most likely.

Now I have to wait like a month to get a reply that says "I don't know dude". Oofifty fkin doo

I found that :
"For a normal recruits to be available in the Pool, two conditions must be
satisfied: One- After certain mission (see below); Two- After Certain rank (ranks
stated below is rank of recruits, your character must have the same or higher
rank). For special recruits, condition One will be changed with Three- your
character must encounter a specific encounter. for example if you are paladin
lord in mission 5 you can have Grimm brothers (but how to do that other than
cheat?)" : Check this : https://www.neoseeker.com/fallout-brotherhood/faqs/87047-fallout-tactics-recruit.html

I'm not on my PC right now, but I can say recruits are added when inside the specific bunker related to where they are supposed to appear (first bunker for tribal recruits, for example). They are added only once using a trigger, when some global variables are of a specific value, and maybe other conditions. This said, if you can open the editor, open your current bunker map, and check the scripts, you could be able to identify on which conditions your ghouls are supposed to appear. If you want them no matter what, you can open a mission you didn't visited yet, create a trigger with the condition "Always", and in the action tab, use the right trigger to add those recruits you want to the recruit pool.

Can you do the step by step guide? I never look into, or edit any of this 'map trigger' you're stating. In fact, I have only done creating new recruits and placing them in the first mission.

*EDIT: I have managed to edit a special encounter, which is supposedly counted as a mission, and created a new trigger. I have set its condition as "Always" like you addressed, but that's as far as I could have done it on my own.

use the right trigger to add those recruits you want to the recruit pool.
I don't even know what this "right trigger" is. I have found "Modify recruit pool list" under "Actions" tab, but it says to set "tagname" which I don't know what it is. Do I have to write down the recruits' name I wanted to be added? Like "CORE_go1" and such?

**EDIT: Nevermind. I've found the way. Although I am very curious why the trigger for adding ghoul recruits in Bunker02 wan't properly working. The other trigger for placing two ghouls at the bunker hallway, doing those 'magic hand' animation all the time has the same condition as the trigger which should add ghoul recruits, and this trigger is working fine. I do see those two ghoul friends in the bunker.

Both triggers have the exact same conditions, only one of them is working and the other is not. Why is that? I need to know why, because I fear same issue could have happen for later game. Like how Deathclaw recruits won't show up even though I've matched its trigger condition; save Matriarch in Mardin. I can only hope it wouldn't be happening again.

Oh happy you found the triggers. What you are refering to is a bit of a mystery to me, but it is clearly not the first time I observe some odd behaviours when playing and testing with the game. Sometimes a very tiny detail prevent some feature to work completely, even if everything is fairly logical, like the turret not working if the option "Enable Script Events" is checked. I also experienced triggers not working, then changed their order in the list, and suddently they were working flawlesly.

Are you sure that both triggers have the exact same conditions? It would not really make sense to separate the triggers in two lines if the conditions are the same. It would clearly be an unnecessary duplication creating more confusion for no reason. There might be a slight difference in a variable, maybe?
