No Playable Demo of Fallout 3

You're supporting a gamer that supported the company you hate. Nice...

Anyway, there is no legal way of not supporting a studio and playing a game... So... hum... no, don't bother trying to figure out a way, because no matter how you look at it, in the end, you will always be supporting the company, either directly or indirectly.

To be expected.

Even if they made a demo specially tailored for more traditional fans to get good PR (I was encouraged by the FoT demo), there would still probably be too much criticism for such an investment, especially in light of past work, so it would be too risky, a waste of money, when more people would probably buy without it anyway.

This is ironic. One of the reason people actually bought Fallout Tactics was because they liked the demo. The demo was pretty cool.

Yeah, I have to agree, this is damage control. A company like Bethesda that has supposedly poured so much money into this game can't release a demo that proves that the hype is justified?

That should be disturbing to the causal fan or skeptical gamer.

Ok, so you've got all this hype behind you. So where's the beef? - thinks the skeptic.

The producer says, "Ah, well here's the proof!" and offers a tiny bit to flavor the skeptic's anticipation.

No demo?

I agree, this might be cautious- they don't want to put out a demo that the hardcore fans (us) won't like because its not really a Fallout game and they know this. Instead they rely on the large numbers generated by the hype machine.

But wait a second- why shouldn't a fan go to Best Busy or the local video store and play the game on one of their computers- because there is not demo versions for retailers to use?

What are they going to use instead? Large posters made of cardboard with BOS soldiers or Mutants asking players to buy FO3?

(I assume there is some twisted logic to their insidious scheme- but damn if I know what it is).
