Oblivion System Requirments

Uh-uh. I loved Daggerfall, but everything about this Oblivion abomination screams overhyped dumbed-down console crap. Gothic III is likely going to be everything Oblivion should have been.

No, the first part of each previous Gothics were what Morrowind should have been if they had someone with a clue about design, rather than have ithe guilds remain the nearly faceless entities you can mass-join for almost no effect on the game other than extra phat lewt.

You know, since they wanted to make such great promises years ago for Morrowind, something tells me they will be the same templated bullshit in Oblivion. A pity that the Gothic games turn rather linear later on and didn't include an editor you can trump the design team's abilities with (like the mod that makes the first town in Morrowind have some coherent design to it except for a couple of crappy quests), but at least Pirahna Bytes understands how to design role-playing elements even if Bethesda thinks that "joinable guilds" and bullshit like that are "role-playing" inherently without having to do any real design behind them.

If you want to look at it closely, both have factions/guilds, but those you join in Gothic actually mean something other than, again, "phat lewt".
