When you have been playing for as long as I have you start to run out of English (retro) games you can play. The past few years I have been looking into import titles, many of which are not well known, or hard to come by. Here are a few of the ones I think are worth mentioning, feel free to share your own...
DOSHIN THE GIANT
Right off the bat a word of warning - the soundtrack on this game is not that good. Turn it down and go to Youtube to choose your music of choice (I chose some groovy retrowave), imbibe some sort of intoxicant, and get to it. It plays like a weird Japanese version of Black and White mixed with Populous. The Gamecube version is the one to go with since the 64DD is impossible (pointless) to come by.

There isn't much to this game aside from sucking blood and collecting things, but it is so unique and playable without knowing Japanese.
