RPGDot reported that GamerGirl has conducted an interview with Chris Avellone, now referred to as "Obsidianite":
Q: What do you believe has been your finest achievement?

A: I'm probably most proud of Torment, but finishing Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords in thirteen months without dying of a heart attack comes in a close second.

(...)

Q: All of the games you have supervised were based on pre-established licenses (Planescape, Star Wars, etc). Is this pattern coincidental?

A: There's not really much choice in the gaming industry, unfortunately. We did try to do original IPs at Interplay, but they never panned out as well as the established licenses, except for maybe Fallout. Would I love to work on an original IP, create my own fantasy or sci-fi (or gasp - modern) world? You bet.
Torment and KOTOR 2, is that all? ;)

Thanks to SickBastard for the info.

GamerGirl, GamerGirl?!?!!? It burns!!! IT BURNSSS!!!!

(I do have a reason for having a bias against female games newssites. They tend to suck)

It's not surprising that he's not that proud of his work on Fallout 2, considering that it SUCKED MAJOR ASS.

I hope Obsidian's own project will be good. Neverwinter Nights is a lost project as far as I'm concerned

Yeah, but it is about Christopher, and you're meat.

Wait...Fallout 2 "SUCKED MAJOR ASS" or Chirs Avellone's work on it?

Oh, sorry, that was a typo. You know, the one you have writing news at night when you should've been studying statistics. (Wait, did I write studying? I must've meant learning since I've no fucking idea what's it about :()

Better now? ;)

What a coincidence! I've just received a mail asking me to answer several questions concerning what I thought about KotOR 2.
It's for LucasArts but I hope that Chris will know why I didn't like that sequel...

"It's not surprising that he's not that proud of his work on Fallout 2, considering that it SUCKED MAJOR ASS."

Meh. I found his parts of FO2 to be the best parts of the entire series, and definitely better than anything he did in PST, or KOTOR2...

Whoah there, Volo, are you serious? I consider MCA a brilliant developer based on PS:T alone, though nothing else he did impressed me.

He just tooled together New Reno and some other stuff for Fallout 2. 2 was already imperfect without him, he just made it even less good. Still a great game, yes, but boy was it flawed, partially thanks to MCA's work

Meh. That's where we differ. PST while a great game is sorely overrated while FO2 espicially his work on it - and, espicially New Reno - was fantastic. Some of the best role-playing ever, awesome quests for the most part, fantastic atmosphere, great characters, and on, and on. I didn't find FO2 flawed. Not perfect, yes, but flawed in the way you seem to mean; no.

That's ok; though. To each their own.

Meh, you like Baldur's Gate anyway, so I can discount your opinion. Heh, I kid.

New Reno was a great CRPG town, yeah, it kinda sucked in the setting, though. But meh.

Do the questions include the one about your PayPal account number? ;)
Not at all :) (and I don't use PayPal)
It was questions about the games I play, LucasArts, marketing, and KotOR 2.
