And a good ranting it was. I think this is fair.

Ok, I shall edit the few messages appropriately.

But folks, really, don't look for me for direction all the time. The plot, as set up, is pretty clear. We have to go to a dangerous city, find an item, and leave it. We have painted this area as one in which there are post-apocalpytic factional wars- essentially we are in a war zone divided by groups defined by colors= greys, greens, reds- etc.

Feel free to take the story where you want it to go.

Fair enough... Not a stupid death, but more death by consequence....

And sorry, bad habit, I hang around RPG forums too much, so force of habit. Besides, play the pen and paper fallout games and you'll see it makes sense to add some realism.

Or simply put, we could use what I'd like to call the Resident Evil system. Simply a person has eight slots, he can put what he wants, I mean you got two extra for hands and well back packs add extra slots to hold stuff. Of course, don't take this system to heart.

You are god here so I play.. But sounds cool. Factional wars and such... I have a couple of non interrupting surprises of my own... If you won't mind. I mean like rest stops that sort of thing...

OK, I am delaying the escape until more people post. However, wait to long (Monday) and you will be left behind.

Well, we have posted much, and I have offered a route... Take it or not... Up to the gang to trust Stryfe on this...

Onwards, onwards. If the others get left behind they have to pick themselves up.

The great rule (though rarely enforce)

"Gone for 5 days you maybe killed off. "

We don't do it because people are often gone for 5 days and it's kind of impolite.

But there is also the other rule.

"Take the initiative."

Plus

"Shit or get off the pot."- grandma's wisdom.

I saw you on one of the other boards. Do you think there is any hope for sharing among the boards, at least in terms of RPG?

Not sure, but it seems to me that the big problem with RPG on Fallout is that people join then disappear. It's hard to keep a group of players together for long. Actually I am surprised that Kilrick has gone as long as it has.

But I am also thinking there are potential players out there that are looking for a good RP, they just don't know where to find it.

quick thought on the idea of playing others.

Take the intiative. Look, I can edit posts, so if there is a contradiction of something isn't working, it can be fixed. So don't worry about making changes if we can catch them early enough. Rarely does a day go by that I don't check in.

Borrow liberally but not without courtesy. Try to get a feel for how the other character is acting and playing and correspond appropriately.

Do not feel constrained if another player is not posting fast enough. One or two days to respond is fine, so wait. But five days off and the player can be killed. Because this is a cooperative effort we try to be nice to each other, but at the same time we can't let one player hold up the story.

Try not to kill each other off. But if that happens, well life's a bitch.

I think there is only one vehicle, though it must be pretty big to transport our ever-growing party. Rama Stryfe did the driving to the Gunrunners.
On the other hand, the NPCs we are escorting to NY haven't had a single mention since the first posts. I thought you'd be playing them, Welsh, since you're the game master?

Which raises a couple of good points-

(1) I am not the game master here. YEs, I am a moderator, and yes I got this going. But the game is fairly open to all. You are all co-writers here so really it's yours. Move it where you want it to go.

(2) We will get back to them soon. Promise.

I got more to write but later.

Cheers!

Ok, back-
(3) try to pay attention to each other's posts. This is not just a matter of courtesy, it has much to do with the quality of the story. We may all be different writers and with our own ideas, but here on the board we share one common world.

That means a bit of compromise and being a bit easy on each other. But it should also mean that we work together on this.

Remember on Deliverance, the banjo scene. Here, two guys are interacting, taking up different tunes and melodies and challenging each other to play better, but it's just one song.

Ditto here- we work together to tell one tale. So play attention to each other's posts and try to be consistent.

(4) Take the initiative with this story.

Well, I made way for Talon and Stryfe, everyone can interact and well... Kilrick is the defacto leader so... whatever you take up of Rama's reaction to Violin and Talon and the rest is up to you....

Now that you've added some details about the surroundings and characters in your latest posts, I like the Gunrunners detour very much. It gives Aaron a day to heal, too.

I understand, Welsh. I'm more used to GM-led roleplays, so I hope I'm not making too many mistakes here. I haven't posted a character description because I'm trying to introduce him slowly, making him familiar yet mysterious; is that alright?

Rama- again, this is your detour so you are running with this for now.

Generally I take a pretty hands off approach. I started this and will provide a gentle guiding hand because I know where it's going. But the story is all of ours. So keep feeling free to develop it as you wish.
