It Wandered In From the Wastes
After 10 years this is probably WAY old news, but a search of the forum and some walkthroughs didn't turn up anything. I've never encountered this one before, so I thought I'd post it and invite you to let me have it if it's already been done to death. :)

This is with the US version (1997), patched with the TeamX semi-official 1.2.

Anyway, just this morning I was doing some of my own bugfix testing on Fallout 1 and had the preferences set to "easy" and "wimpy" just to speed things along. Saved and exited, but didn't quit entirely, rather started a new game. The created character had the Bruiser trait, Small Guns, Melee, and Unarmed tagged. Needless to say, this was a not-terribly-bright thug.

To my surprise, the preferences were still set in the new game. To my continued surprise, my brand-new character's inventory included a first-aid kit, extra stimpacks, lockpicks, a tool, a few drugs, and some V13 flasks. It would seem the extra equipment was based on the skill levels which were modified upwards due to the lingering "easy" setting.

Not an exploit I ever plan to use, but interesting.

Please read the forum rules regarding discussion of unofficial (or "semi-official", for that matter) patches.
