Oh no, not another one!

So, here is the deal:

Would you like another Fallout after Fallout 3? I'm talking about RPGs here since everything else (including MMORPGs) is excluded by default (at least in my opinion). I certainly would like it to stop after Fallout 3. I wouldn't like to see the Fallout license become something like those for Star Wars or Star Trek or crap like that.
However by how things look it seems there will be a time when we're gonna say: "Oh no, not another Fallout crap!" I mean, after a time everything starts smelling rotten.

Picture this little scenario here:

Fallout 3 comes out good - half as good as Fallout 1 & 2 (I don't have higher hopes than that) and Bethesda decides to make an expansion pack adding some new items, quests, locations and stuff like that. And then maybe another little expansion pack there... while F4 is in the making.
F4 comes around. This one is not quite as good. Some little design error altered the game (no more of the dark humour, maybe?). A couple of other exp. packs appear, though.
F5 comes around. This one is even... blah, blah...

Well, by now you can see where this is going. It's a bit of a dark vision, but that's how I see it.

And to go a bit further on the dark side let's say that sometime in the future Bethesda is in danger of going out of business and they sell the Fallout license to... umm... Microsoft.

Pretty scary, huh? "Hey look! Fallout 10 on XBOX Portable!"

OK, fine!

First of all it would never happen and second....it would never happen. Would you like a third?

Mohrg

I really understand why you can't sleep well at night.

What about if they make more Wasteland-themed games that arent really "Fallout". That would suit me just fine as you'd get the best of Fallout, but with larger opportunities to expand the world since it doesnt necessarily have to be set around the vaults.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

While im not a huge fan of MMORPGs, id be interested in a Fallout based one.

as for a fallout 4... maybe if someone got together the original fallout design crew... sure, but otherwise... after fallout 3... the series should be laid to rest. atleast thats my opinion.

I read somewhere that Bethesda had the lisence to make a fallout 3, 4 and 5. anyway, with the quote...
I like fallout as it is, a mmorpg would be a good money making move but i, for one wouldn't like it (and its NOT because im on 33k). i dont know how a turn based game like fallout would work online (if it wasnt an mmorpg or tactical) unless it was an arean-style area. Dont try to fix what aint broke, cos you'll fuck it up more. If they keep the formula of 1 and 2, they'll sell heaps, the fans will be pleased with them and it makes their job easier (ie. they dont have to think up new ways to disapoint us, the fans, because that angers up, the fans, and it wastes their time they could be spending making a good game. This is evident with FO:POS)

Sure, that would be damn fine! I personally cannot wait to play some of the PA RPGs that are in work.
