Olympics!

The hockey is whimpy though. Since it's the Olympics and it's supposed to be all friendly and shit, they don't do any cool tackles or start fighting.

What? You didn't watch the CZE-ITA game, did you? Not that you had any reason to, but there were no fewer than three brawls, if I remember correctly. The last one was like in the 18th minute of the 3rd period when we were winning 4:1, so it was spectacularly unnecessary, too.

Also, in the Finns game, Ruutu slashed Jágr in the face so fiercely that he got sent to the showers and Jágr retired from the game. The Czech team then tried to get Ruutu banned for the rest of the tournament.

In other news, the Czech men's relay team screwed up their registration so a replacement skier had to be called in from another town on the morning of the event. He was totally unprepared, and basically lost the race (received the relay 3rd, finished 9th).

Only reason that Jágr got hurt so bad is because of his shitty helmet (thats not even allowed on olympics) and because he ducked just before Ruutu hit him.

And he had no problems playing day later, so i can't understand the whining going on.

I just mentioned it because the Overseer was complaining there was no fighting going on. By the way, Jágr's teammates agreed that the damage wouldn't have been much less if Jágr had been wearing the normal helmet. Also nothing about Jágr's type being against the regulations.

The truth is somewhere inbetween, I guess. The media the world over tend to handle international sports in an us-vs-them, propagandist way.

woho sweden took 2 golds today
Int the Winter Olympics?
What does Sweden have except for winter?

And a reputation for nudism?

Did I mention I stopped watching TV last month?

You're about fourteen months behind me, I was about 200 months behind reason.

I would ask if I were the only one who was totally uninterested in this, but the others probably did not post in this thread.
Never mind.

Well at least winter for a few months is better than 300+ rain days / year
Dude, I wish. Any less than 245 days of outright rain per annum and we get drought warnings.

So is anyone watching? I am trying to catch woman's biathlon because chicks in tight outfits, sweating and shooting turns me on.
Biathlon is ... hot? Doesn't take much for you Welsh  Ice skating on the other hand, all these young ladies with tight skin-coloured tops...

Well then at least now, don't whine about Selänne's hit in the face that was for the same reason, a shitty helm, and an accidental hit with a stick.

Why would anyone want to see women of bowling in a nude calendar?
Cause nudity is funny, no matter what they are doing, it's funny, especially if the sport that the nude people are doing, is in cold and the people try to look like as if there were nothing wrong with being nude, like nude skiing.

Both of the overseas teams have gone home. That's some wild stuff, man.

Also, I totally didn't expect the Czechs to do that last night. The Swedes better reserve their tickets home for Saturday if we plan to keep this up.

I did say "if we plan to keep this up". I couldn't have known Hadamczik's strategy was "start sucking as badly as before."

You know, I actually rooted for Sweden in the final. They play cleaner, and the Finns have uglier jerseys (come on, cyan and white? Ever heard of color coordination?).

well, they probably made the uniforms by their flag colours, you know...like most of other countries..so their flag is ugly? :D

I am bummed.
The Finns lost to the Swedes.

And Bode Miller went home empty handed.

Heartbreak on Brokeback.
