DAC seems to be "missing" from the web at the time of writing...

think interplay nuked em???
 
Well this isn`t the right place to post about it, but well, it´s only a problem with name server, it will be fixed soon.
 
why not?
DAC and NMA post about each other all the time.. DAC were most upset when NMA went off a few weeks ago...

:D no it`s not that, i was talking about this beeing an editor forum.
Anyway i just left #fallout now and things were going well about fixing the problem, shouldn`t take much more now to get back online.
 
People are still posting on the forums, so it's not really dead. I doubt they're ever going to get the domain back or fix the links though.
 
Worst prediction i made in the last months. The other was that Iplay would be legally closed by now, almost got that right, but they still "exist" somehow. Oh well, win some, loose some, like the national team i guess :)

More like they viciously assaulted them with ping pong paddles (at least those they managed to salvage from their offices (at the time when they still had offices, that is)).
 
From what I understand, the domain name wasn't renewed in time. As a result, it's now selling for $200. So they bought thevats.net but apparently they've now lost the FTP passwords to the site... and those that do have the passwords don't care enough.

This is all just part of the ongoing saga of the Fallout between Killzig and Kreegle.
 
Poor Kreegle doesn`t have any password, this is just the effect of personal problems Killzig has been having, not of an ongoing process that envolves both. Andy`s mail accounts that i have seem to be dead, and i lost the one i think he still uses in my catastrophic computer mess back in December. The only chance for him to appear is to talk about DAC here on NMA, he hates this place so much that he might show up again just to stop us from doing it ;)

Lost the passwords??? Are you kidding, right?

Anyway I don't think this is the case because they updated the site three weeks ago. So someone must have the password. Since the "goatse" DAC is not the same. They could at least update the links. :x
 
I think Killzig got the new domain but didnt feel like the site was worth it to change all the links, he was complaing about how boring DAC was before the domain was lost. I'm pretty sure he wants it to die, but people are still trying to keep it on life support.

That's true but I like to think that if we didn't have the useless shit that went on between them (well, or any of the useless shit that went on), DaC would've at least had one admin around who knew what they were doing. Even if they both left, they would've been able to pass the site on to someone who cared. I guess that's wishful thinking though.

I post there on a daily basis..There's about 10 to 15 regular posters left. New people continue to sign up for the forum, but none of them post anything worthwhile. I am pretty sure at least one of them is one of the people banned from here not long ago.

I think the site would do good under GG and atoga.....And Spazmo, of course, if he cared.

I wouldn't say they lost the passwords. I'd say the admins chose to not give out the passwords and then went on a long vacation leaving the rest of us high and dry.
 
Sorry to hear about this, especially for you Ryno as I know you have a lot of loyalty to that board.

It's really kind of sad what's been happening to DAC. Seems like it has been dieing for a long time. But all this blaming the admins and mods is a bit weak. I mean the mods and admins are suppose to show leadership, but so much depends on the kind of posters you get.
 
Yeah, it's gone way down hill since last year and just keeps getting worse. People sign up and never post, and 90% of the regulars are gone. Sad, but not too sad. There's lots of stuff here to read, I just don't have anything to say to most of the posts here.

I've got loyalty to DAC because a lot of the people there were at V13, the first Fallout forum I was associated with so it just felt normal. Maybe that's a bad sign? Pretty much the same people from V13 which closed it's doors are now at DAC which is as good as closed....Hmm...Guess we'll bring our bad joo-joo to NMA eventually. :) Seems most of the v13ers have been here for a while, already.

Also, JJ86 could run DAC, too. For some reason I forgot about him...Not that it's much use...NMA does all the news (and has done all the news for about a year) and NMA has the great file section...DAC was just a bit on the dry side near the end.

I'll miss it to a degree, but I spend 90% of my time at 419eater.com anymore...Moved on from video games (although I do look forward to a Bethesda Fallout 3 game....sue me) to baiting real-world people.
