It Wandered In From the Wastes
Im not sure if this is the place where I should ask this... But anyway.
How many and which movies are in a postapocyptic enviroment, like Mad Max? I have just watched either Mad Max 2 or three but are there any others?

Wooz, be nice.

This is a topic that has come up before and will be discussed again and again. The question is whether it can be turned into a meaningful discussion.

There are a lot of post-apoc movies, so much so that it is a genre, or sub-genre of sci-fi. Furthermore, some flicks are called apocalyptic that would seem to deny notions of setting or style- Texas Chain Saw Massacre has been called an apocalyptic movie.

That said Dirtbag, Wooz is right- try google or yahoo next time.

Personal favorites-

A Boy and his Dog
Panic in the Year Zero
On the Beach
Blood of Heroes
the Omega Man

Haven't seen Delicatessen yet- any comments?

What for? ;)

Delicatessen is a great movie, I highly reccomend it, especially if you liked The City of Lost Children.

Delicatessen is a wonderfull film, i`ve watched it many times. For a more cerebral, yet deranged take on the apocalipse try Bunker Palace Hotel by Bilal.

Don't forget Threads.

I think someone on here recommended it, and since being a lackey American, had never seen it, since it's a British offering.

Very good movie, if a bit dated by now.

I wouldn't buy them though, before renting them. If possible. The Day After was ok, but wasn't very realistic.

Threads is pretty awesome. But I told my wife not to watch it because it's just too damn dark.

Oh, the joys of nuclear armageddon.

By the way, loved City of Lost Children. The reason to be nice is to facilitate, not retard, discussion.

Also, its hard to determine the good movies from shit.

I remember seeing one movie on Sci-Fi. I forget its name, but society had regressed to a fief system, and it was just awful.

On the beach was good? I loved the book, maybe I'll give the movie a try.

I LOVE Blade Runner and The Running Man.

They aren't necessarily PA, they are Sci-Fi, with things reminiscent of a PA world. Damn good though.

I remember being at hollywood video and seeing this video on the bottom shelf called Fallout. I was all excited then I read the back of the video. It was about a office building fire or something. Then they were trapped in a fallout shelter I think. I said screw this.

Anyway Stephen King's the Stand was good.
