Hello all,

Harebrained Schemes, the developers behind the Shadowrun Returns game and the upcoming Shadowrun Returns Hong Kong has announced that it will start a kickstarter for a new Battletech game.
Unlike some of the last games which were 3D action games this title will be more like its original incarnation and is planned as a turn based RPG.

I happen to know that there are a lot of fans of traditional boardgames and RPGs here so I thought those who do not check gaming news that often might be really interested in hearing about this (or they probably already know).

Hope this article is of interest to people; http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/...to-battletech-and-kickstarter-this-fall-.aspx

I wonder lf Harebrained Schemes write parts of their games in the Scheme programming language.

I hope so. Shadowrun Returns was pretty cool, if a bit lacking before Dragonfall came out. I hope the nuance of Battletech is kept intact. My fiance, his dad and I all still regularly play the tabletop so it would be awesome to have a good video game adaptation to make campaigns in. (Assuming they port that from Shadowrun returns) I mean, the Mechwarrior games are all pretty awesome, but they've never had a true RPG experience before. Well, beyond the really fun Mercenaries entries. But that's more of a management sim with mech combat stapled on.
