Where'd That 6th Toe Come From?
I was just watching a video on youtube on a political debate regarding censorship in video games (I love living in this fucking nanny state) and its mentioned that drugs are administered intravenously by the pipboy when they brought up Fallout 3 as a censored game.

This was news to me, so i checked the vault articles and it's not mentioned as administering anything and from memory FO3 actually had a morphine administration animation via the hypodermic cartridge you see in its icon which was censored out prior to release.

Is this capability mentioned in any of the games or was this an uninformed idiot spurting shit from the crowd?
 
Uninformed, assuming individual. Perhaps this person meant or is confused by the fact that it's just a menu to select things to use.
 
Spurting shit from the crowd. I've never heard it mentioned, and if needed a pipboy to use those drugs, how would anybody else use them?

Though, to be fair, he could be just getting confused since use them from the pipboy (menu), and somewhere along the line, this got translated to pipboy itself administering the drugs.

I fully support censorship in game…yep…they should censor most of the rubbish that passes as games nowadays and flush it down the toilet…I would allow a committee headed by Tim Cain, Shigeru Miyamoto and Sid Meier, with members like - Doug Church, Richard Garriott, Ron Gilbert, Stieg Hedlund, Yuji Horii, Koji Igarashi, Soren Johnson, Hideo Kojima, Ken Levine, American McGee, Colin McComb, Chris Avellone, Steve Meretzky, Shinji Mikami, Peter Molyneux, Gabe Newell, Tetsuya Nomura, David Perry, Brian Reynolds, Ken Rolston, Hironobu Sakaguchi, Josh Sawyer, Tim Schafer, Warren Spector, Yu Suzuki, Satoshi Tajiri, Toshiro Tsuchida, Chris Taylor, Fumito Ueda, Jon Van Caneghem, Tim Willits, and Will Wright to decide what games should be released, and flush the rest…sorry Todd you didn’t make the list… :roll:
 
I realise that's supposed to be a joke, but that's a horrible. Nevermind taking Molyneux or Kojima's opinion, but Committees suck, and frankly, if people enjoy something, who are you (or them) to say they shouldn't be able to have it or play it? Games are ultimately there to entertain someone, and if they acccomplish that, what's really wrong with it?
 
Most of those guys were involved with some of the greatest games ever built…they decided then…why not now, I know because the publicly listed game companies - publishers want “more money”…there is no room for creativity any more if it conflicts with “more money”…just ask Todd he understands the new equation. :wink:
 
Actually Per, that's part of the exact video i was watching. Spent an hour wanting to rage at the dude for saying yes.

The good news is that the censor for games stepped down and we have a neutral replacement.

Now our telecomm minister is trying to censor our internet.

No, their intent is to remove refused classification material. This includes any games that are of a R18+ rating.

Edit: Regardless of what they're trying remove, its the implementation that has people up in arms about it.
