PipBoy2000 Winamp skin

Go Gerko! I've used his old skin for ages, will be using this skin from now on.

'Though I usually use foobar instead of Winamp.

Heh the timestamp on my old skin is 3/9/2001, can't believe I've been using it this long.

Thanks for the update=)

Ahh, perfect. I'm currently remaking stuff in my computer to make it look fallouty, and this will be a great addition.

Heh. Thanks for the praise.

Oh, and perhaps someone should take down the older version ? It's still there in the downloads section.

-Gerko, "Yup, Didn't stand the test of time that well."

I could have guessed the original skin came from here... have been using that one for a very long time.

In my current resolution, the 2000 skin has a bit tiny buttons & text though. But, as with Fallout, the buttons are very clear to see, it should just be a matter of adapting (that's what's life as known to us is all about, right?).

One small question/remark: Can the main screen be docked to the video section? I miss being able to enlarge the video screen, and having more control over the granularity of the progress slider...

Cool! Not only does it look nice, it's also functional!

Too many skins I've seen looked great, but were absolutely useless.

I don't think I've ever used a skin that was as ergonomic as this.

Don't think it came originally from here. Wasn't very active on NMA back in '99. (Though I hung around at "The Order", which was hosted (as it is now) by NMA for a while earlier.) I mainly distributed it through winamp.com and my own very crappy site. A lot of fansites picked it up, though.

As for your question : Not really sure what you mean. Sounds like a Winamp issue. You can 'stick' the video window to the main window, sure. Resizing it can be done by hold-clicking in the bottom right corner. (I ommited the 'resize triangle' they usually put in. Didn't like the look very much, and I figured people would know anyway.) As for position bar precision, that's completely out of my leage.

Well, as I just said above, it's missing the resize triangles in the playlist, video and general windows. Furthermore, there are two clickable areas on the main window I just skinned over. One is small button in the top left corner, which opens the main menu, the other is a bit larger area in the bottom right, which opens up the credits. I thought about putting something there, but I liked the empty space. Also, the " : " that displays whether the playback is "synchronized or buffered // break in transmission" isn't there. Another bug happens if you pause a playback, not to mention the sillyness that happens if the counter goes beyond 99m:59s.

Whoops!

Most of it is by design, but it's not completly functional.

-Gerko, nitpicking his own work. Sure, why not ?

Maybe someone here linked to it, or it was hosted here... Too long ago to remember ;)

About the docking:
In the current "modern" version of the standard Winamp skin, you can dock/integrate the Video window in the "main" window. So, when you resize your video window, the progress slider (with play buttons, volume etc) is resized too.

This way, if you resize the docked video screen to allmost fullscreen, your progress slider becomes about 30cm (12in), in stead of the standard 5cm (2in). Thus, improving granularity of time-scrolling :)

maybe I just overlooked this... I'll check it later on, am at work now (although I can do it here, I work at a radio station - could be concidered "combining useful with fun"?).
