First time out of the vault
first i am no english or american.. i am italian and even if i understand everything (or almost everything) i easily wite errors :P


1) who the hell is monty pyton? i've heard a lot of easter eggs in fallout 2 are inspired to him but i don t know who is or why he is so famous in fallout

2) i ve latest interplay patch (still old one + kids addon for uk ver) but still I ALWAYS have gecko hand up to be took over by vault city at the end

3) what if you get your car stolen and you shoot at jules :P?

4) what's the connection with the infamous pig rat of klamath and the one under gecko? (area found just the seventh time i played :P)

5) where the F*** is derek? i can never find him and bring back rebecca her book!

6) The brotherood is from the glow right? than why they left?
AND i found an holodisk in the mutant base saying that the general of the army at the military base deserted the USA and was really unsure why the states still didn t do anything..
aren t them from the brotherood?

7) are supermutants steryle ? (in fallout marcus says that s not true.. )

8) is there any mod out there worth trying?
i don t want to try a super-duper weapon/armor mod with 20000 dmg.. i just wanted something with new quests or cool modifications to gameplay (suck clips locking in your gun or being able to make more aimed shots..) or anyway something cool!!
i ve heard they ve released the tools and i expected an huge mod to bbe released.. but i haven t seen anythin here..

Weel, Monty Pyton probably refers to the English Monty Pyton show, and Dereks book can be lying around somewhere in the Right Side of the town, perhaps on himself too, but I can't remember where he is. I most of times found the book somewhere lying around.
 
1 - as stated before, the british comedy group.

2- as far as I know, you should do everything in Gecko, except the last part, to optimize the powerplant...

3-don't know, but if you have a good PE stat you can follow the car trail directly, without need of talking to anyone...

4-They are a joke about the cartoon characters pinky and Brain, two rats that are always trying to rule the world...

5-Derek is somewhere in Den's east part, but you don't need to find him to complete the mission. You just need to find the book somewhere in the same area, lying on the ground, its location is random, sometimes I find it at the graveyard...

6-Don't understand the question about the brotherhood. The reason why the US govern didn't take any action against the desertors at military base is because the desertion happened when the nuclear war started, so the govern had already left for their hidden bunkers. Those desertors formed the brotherhood if I recall right, not sure about this one...

7- No, the Fallout bible (a serie of files containing details about the FO universe, search at NMA for them) says it was only a joke from Marcus...

8- As the editing tools were just released. Until now there aren't to my knowledge any major mod already released. But seems there are some real good ones at works, guess we will have to wait a bit more...

9- Probably just stupid...

Watch Monty Python!

You should watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail sometime. Besides being pretty damn funny, the 2 secret encounters make a lot more sense (and are thus a lot funnier). :D

that s the question: when you take the glow mission they say it s the ancient home of the brotherood, from where they came from..
than in the military base (wich is waaaayyy out) you find this story of these desertors that have fromed the brotherood...

so are the brotherood from the glow or military base?
(perhaps i remember something of a fusion.. not sure)

i mean.. i loved the skynet thing, the crashed whale, the lassie thing and all

The brotherhood does original come from a military vault. Check FOT story.

They're making the game unrealistic.
 
The answer to #2 really is that there's a broken part of the quest. You're supposed to be able to solve everything with the Greed is Good quest, but it doesn't seem to work with the endings.

As a huge Monty Python fan, I found those encounters quite boring as all they did was copy the events from the movie.

Sweout is working on a new town mod, it will include new items and a brand new NPC too :wink: Check us out at http://www.freewebs.com/f2modding/index.htm - as you can see it's not really complete, but we are working on it and one day it'll be :D
 
someone should make a mod/fix to allow council man gregory (i think) to give you the medical stuff needed to help gecko.

iirc, he is supposed to give you the option of taking medical items to gecko after you fix/optimize? the power plant, but theres a glitch in his dialog that stops him from letting you.

i may be completely wrong about this, but i remember reading it somewhere else

Heh, God, that'd be a great, but there's already a reference to the spam sketch; the conversation with Ma at Ma's diner in the Den, 'member? "Don't you have anything with no so much rat in it?" "Well, there's the rat soup." or something.
 
another thing that would be fun Could be a special encounter were you met the black knight(my favourite mouthy python character)
He could have unlimited life and the only way to kill him would be to cripple all his limbs.
 
Ma's diner isnt from the spam sketch its from a different sketch.... i forget it excactly (i think it turns into religous superheros or somthing crazy like that) but its on 'MP live from the hollywood bowl'

No, man, it's from the spam sketch, as far as I know. Don't you remember the line "Don't you have anything with not as much spam in it?" from the MP sketch, and the fact that mom's food options all contain rat, just like all food options in the MP sketch contain spam.

Can anyone confirm this either way?
 
Trust me dude... you can watch 'And now for something completely different', that has the actual spam sketch in it, or 'MP live from the holywood bowl' and that has the sketch with the rat stew, rat pie and rat spagettie and so on.
