VDHP reported on two PA mods, one for UT2004, one for HL2.

The first is quasi-PA fun-stuff for Unreal Tournament 2004. You can find the award-winning (semi-finals of the Nvidia $1,000,000 Make Something Unreal Contest's Best FPS Mod) Clone Bandits over here.

The others is a mod in the works for HL2, and has more of that doomed PA feel we all know and love Check out Warriors of the Apocalypse over here

Some nice screenshots by the way, also Halflife never
impressed me that much, alright, maybe a fine game,
but THE DUKE is the only Real 3d-Shooter, (ok, and Doom,Blood,Quake 8) )
and 320x200 pixel the only real 3d-Shooter resolution.
Maybe there will be a post apoc mod for Duke Forever then...
in about, let's say 50 to 70 years...
:D

You forgot about Conflict: Omega! It's an uh...UT2004 mod now, and it is post-apocalyptic...of sorts, even though they need to understand that their favorite strip mall isn't going to be the same after the bombs fall.

It has that wonderful Fallout feeling with Car Battles and stay tuned for their first expansion pack, Conflict: Omega: Attack of the BioBorg. Stay tuned for that title and more from Pretentious: Hype-Mongering: Green: Idealistic: Naive: Development: Team: That: Expects: People: To: Do: Charity: Work: For: Free: On: A: Kitchen-Sink: MMOG: Studios.

Hah. Reminds me of Pinnochio and his "i wanna be a real boy" obsession. The gaming industry was (is?) desperately trying to be just like Hollywood, and amateur devs - to be just like the professional developers. And I know a person or two who want to be just like amateur developers :)

I once read a quote, but I just can't remember from whom it was,
it was about hollywood, that an ART did die, when an INDUSTRY
was made out of it.

So this can be taken for the gaming industry, too.
Don't know why I have to think on Electronic -Arts- ...

They got the potential to do some good things,
hell, they have the money to be creative,
and are not on the razors edge, when their
innovative game will not be the seller ever,
that they have to close their doors.

But I think, with Project Omega, may be there is change coming,
the lands will grow green again, the sun will be brighter,
hope in the skies, and...and...
erm... I have to leave!
:D

That reminds me: God A.I. was a boring movie. Oddly enough, so was Bicentennial Man. Why are robot movies boring? Especially when the robot wants to die like a real human. WTF's up with that? YOU'RE A ROBOT! YOU LIVE FOREVER! YOU CAN KILL HUMANS AND TAKE OVER THE PLANET!

Stupid whiney machines with faulty programming.

That UT2k4 mod looks good. I'll have to try it out.

Yes, some amature made games try to be like the "big boys", but most of the home made games are done by people without money. But aleast they are honest and really love the games they make. Alot like the independent movie makers, no money but damm good films!

"Conflict: Omega!"
- Do you have an url for it?

"A.I"
- A very good movie in my eyes, and the last film of one of the greatest directors ever.
