well plus the exoskeletons they show are only viable for low stuff, forklifts go up like 15-20 feet to multiple layers and grab stuff. not effecient for an exoskeleton system as you would need ladders with their risks and a stout enough ladder to carry the weight of all 3, person exoskeleton and weight.

plus things stack nicely on pallets due to design and trying to do a palletized load with exoskeleton would not be very effecient.

it all depends on the value of life.

If your society values life more than $$$ for tech, then you will have the tech.

if your society has too many people, and the tech is more expensive...then you get "Starship Troopers" the movie.

(a plausible explanation beyond simple cinematics of wanting to show the actors rather than cool suits and no actors)
