I'm playing a 3 int hth character and I heard it was going to be pretty hard. So why not get the power armor to make things easier? But now I'm wondering, is it even possible to obtain it at level 1? I haven't played in a while, but would the "underground shack entrance" be ok? I probably can't talk to chris.

Chris will probably auto-initiate conversation with you, taking that choice away from you entirely. I'm not sure how this plays out if you haven't accepted the quest from the BoS guy at SF. You will have to take Chris out anyway, cus he alerts the base if he suspects you're an infiltrator. Being a dummy, I'm preeetty sure you won't be able to convince him that your intentions are pure

Having tried it, I don't really think you can get it. I definitely can't convince chris as a dumb character, but did manage to kill him before he alerted the base...except guards won't let me in and if I sneak in I get shot at.
I'd love someone to tell me there is a way to though.
Edit: Now this is weird. I used falche to temporarily raise my intelligence to 4...and now nobody's attacking me if I sneak in...that's kinda ableist (/s) of them to attack a retard, but not an averagely intelligent man...
