problem playing Fot/awaken on windows 7

Tokk

First time out of the vault
i had problems installing Fallout tactics, i could not complete the installation, when it asked about installing directx i could not click the button to do so, so i ended it and the fot installation canceled too.
Some files in the fot root cataloug is missin, for example ft tools, but the game still runs! But when i installed the awaken mod and runs the bos file it says (translated from Swedish) the proscedurestartadress cant be found _AIL_auto_update_3D_position@8 in the DLL-FIle mss32.dll

Anyone know what the problem is?
If it is the canceled FOT installation, how do i install it correctly?

Edit: upgraded BoT with two files from fileplanet, is that needed? The previously mentioned error message doesnt appear, but can neither find the awaken campaign, do i need to reinstall the game?

Another edit: I might have gotten it to work by moving all the files in the awaken directory and overwriting them onto the core directory. Might this screw it up somehow?

FT Tools is installed with the patch, Awaken needs the game to be patched to 1.27 to work. Awaken should also have a shortcut in your program list to run the game.

Uninstall and reinstall (make sure there are no programs running in the background) then apply the patch, then install Awaken.

Thanks, but there are two patches, one bigger, about 75mb i think, are both needed?

Is it necesary to change all the encounter chanses in awaken too?

Edit: what file would that be?

Seem to have run into a bug, the first quest you get- go to that old plant and get info about good places to settle, or something like that. When the countdown to the explosion starts, i run to the "green ground" thingy which i think is an exit grid, but nothing happends.. Then the building explode and my char dies..

Scrolling is very slow on Win7. Is there any way to fix it? I installed all the patches, but nothing changed.

Sadly there isn't that I'm aware of, try Googling how to run programs on windows 7 under a different windows compatibility and see if you can set Tactics to run on a emulated version of windows, only Windows 8 and 7 have the ability to run programs on a emulated Windows XP, Vista, etc... It mite work if it does please post here and tell us your findings.
