Public Ban Logs?

I mean, your problem was that they had a list clearly showing who got banned.
How is that trying to keep you in the dark? It's the exact opposite! It's a pretty clear transparency method that lets you know what the moderators are doing. It sounds like you want more transparency and not less, so why do you want a transparency measure removed? You want them to shadowban people instead?
How is it in any way like that corpse metaphor anyway? Presumably you have to actually go looking for the list specifically for it to be displayed. Besides, it sounds like you don't like the place or want to be there, so just stop going there. Problem solved. Sounds like a shithole anyway, so who cares?
By keep us in the dark I mean by not answering questions and not giving any form of advice or help and when you contact a mod or admin. They're never there. When they're in the dark, I'd call em Gestapo strictly because they're just literally spying on everyone, never involved in the community, no warning to when something gets taken down and no warning to if you get jailed or banned. Of course there are some moderators who at least give you an infraction for it. But that was only one mod. But even then I feel it's for really minor stuff, even getting off topic. It's like giving someone a fine for coughing. I yes I could stop going there, but then again I feel the people on the site want some form of change. So maybe I'd help it be a thing to change that. But I'm not sure it'd even help

Over half the bans for 2014/2015 were for sexist/racist behavior or some shit.
So? People got banned over forum rules. If you don't like the forum rules or how the forum rules are enforced, make petitions. If that's being ignored or even punished, then you should just leave the forum. It's basically how I became mod on here, really...

You mean the petition part? Got hired as mod by petitioning to ban someone who broke forum rules, then.
Yup. Sander and Tagz were the only active people with moderating rights in General Discussion for a while, and they're both, let's say, "actively political". After some liberal use of the banhammer people complained and it was decided that General Discussion needed some more "neutral" moderating staff.

Cut the "Yup", I misread your post :D Got hired as moderator as people got pissed over the extreme interpretation of the forum rules and resulting banhammering via the admin staff.

So wait, Sander isn't moderating anymore?

None of the staff have been very active recently. Except maybe SuA. Even Korin has gone missing again.

Hardliners probably wouldn't have let this topic stay up anyway. Veers into cross-site trolling territory.

Yeah, I thought about that, but since the other site was not explicitly mentioned I guess it counts as a general discussion.
