Raise Strength in Fallout2

First time out of the vault
Hey, i hope all off you had nice christmas.
Now back to Business! ^^

I build my FO2 Char with a Strength of 4 (this should be a good idea... at least i heard that). Now i am at the point of the game where i really could need a boost of strength to use a combat shotgun properly.

i´ve read that i can do this with surgery, power armour and a perk.
But i just dont find HOW to do it...

It would be nice if someone could explain that.
thx

Surgery requires a certain item and access to a certain facility. It won't happen early on.

Using power armour requires owning power armour. Surprise?

The perk Gain Strength becomes available at level 12, as you can read in the manual.

So that means I have to live with Strength 4 until Level 12(if I wnat to use this perk...)?
Or is it not that bad to use the combat shotgun without a strength of 5?

It is "minimum strength required" not "minimum strength suggested". You can't use a shotgun with strength 5. If your strength is 4, you're stuck with pistols for now.

And yes, you have to live with that until you find one of the 3 things you named that can fix it.

There's the Weapon Handling perk.

Or you can raise your skill to compensate.

Or you can go on a diet of Buffout or Jet.

Normally I go with 5 STR as I can get 10 STR later on in the Game as you get some equipment that increase STR by 5(Module + Power Armor)
