Rank your important PA careers

In no order:

1. Medic
2. Survival Expert
3. People actually WILLING to work
4. Artisans, such as craftsman and smiths for simple tools and such.
5. Farmer

Now, I left out a leader intentionally because I feel that anyone in a political leader position in modern days would be a horrible person to follow. I feel that a leader would emerge on their own and will most likely be well liked and trusted by the people. I think the five I listed are self explanatory.

A leader would be useful if you desperately needed to use up all of your food/water :P.
 
Here's my list

1. People with guns (shit will hit the fan)
2. Survival experts
3. Medical staff (anyone)
4. Undertakers
5. Priests
 
In PA, I beleive specializing in one area of expertize is futile. Alot of information and knowledge would become scarse, because learning a vary narrow selection of knowledge, such as quantum physics( in most cases) probably isn't as useful, or worthless to provide the bare nassicites to live in a scourged earth.

Thats the whole idea why in the present, people are SO specialized because the population is enormous. With surplus, it can provide for very specific fields that expand our knowledge/ effiecentcy in that field. My family doctor doesn't operate on my skin, he will propose a dermatologist. A dermatologist is going to have VARY limited uses in PA if that's the only thing he's capable of.

I like that example of the American Colonies, It's exactly what would probably see with a scatter of veary intellegent people that have reminates of lost knowledge that slowly degrades in time. So it would be hardy folk who learn fast to work or die, or die working. With basic skills to survive.


Natural selection do most of the work....

If they scavanged or just farmed, Im pretty sure they are capable of building shelter and any other vital structure. They'll have to protect they're property as well...

Leaders just naturally form, usually the people who don't like physical labor. If they suck at leading, and don't work, they die....

You can replace Doctors with large families

So my list is....

1. Rednecks (farming, armed, survialskills, already psychologically conditioned, the wasteland is their backyard)
2. Prostatues ( One of the oldest occupations, )
