9/10. It's Led Zeppelin.

Sounds like mudvayne and Mr. Bungle had a kid. 7/10

I love these guys and this song always gets me, especially the "Will I still get into Heaven if I kill myself" part. For some reason it was just really powerful.

Oh man, I love that album, and King Park is probably my favourite song from it. 10/10

my ears give that a 4/10 but my brain gives it an 8. Don't ask why.

Travelling to this, at night on a long empty road...

Definitely not my thing, although i won't subtract points because of personal taste. Sounds decent enough, 6/10.

Not my thing either.

Jade: what's wrong with Keith on vocals?

Portishead - Machine Gun

Not the song I'd pick from Third, Beth's voice doesn't come through quite well. I have to reluctantly agree with Sub-Human, it would be better as instrumental - that renders Beth obsolete, when her voice is so iconic to the group. Very odd track. Fits their uncompromising and perfectionist style nonetheless.

7.5/10 I enjoyed that.

Also +1 @ Portishead.

That's pretty cool. The drumming is awesome.

Wry: excellent follow up! Never heard of Buck65, but this one's an insta-bookmark. Not many end up in that list.

From the mildly unknown on to the classics: After Portishead and Massive Attack, only Tricky is missing to complete Bristol's founding fathers of trip hop - such a ridiculous name for a timeless and hardly classifiable genre.

Now I enjoy complexity and, what some may call, chaos in music - Gnaw is just a bit too much for me.

Never before have I heard about Lustmord, but spending the past 10 minutes listening to half (!) of his Tool - Schism remix has convinced me. Good Fallout atmosphere. I'm still in doubt if "remix" is the proper term here, as it's rather a cross-ection of the 2 artists.

Which brings me to my submission for the day: Tool's Lateralus.

The ones who participated / are interested in the MBTI/Jungian psychology thread (or topic in general) should pay attention to the lyrics here. Besides using the Fibonacci number sequence in both music and vocals, incorporating Psychology in the same song (over thinking / over analysing / separating my body from mind / withering my intuition / missing opportunities / and I must / feed my will to feel my moment drawing / way outside the lines)...
I'm a bit inclined to start a mantra in a deep voice "one of us, one of us" ^^

9/10 I do love me a bit of Tool.

It's an honour.

I read somewhere that Buck 65 is no more which is a pity. He's really quite something else, very eclectic. A friend of mine introduced me to his music. She met him once after a gig and they swapped bags. I expect they swapped more than just that, but the bag is pretty fucking cool. Anyfuckingway.

Because I'm on an 80s kick today.

A mild fan of the 80' too, but this one is a bit dry 5/10

Pseudo avant-garde jazz, yeah, i guess i just posted it here. Don' let your head explode

I like jazz... but "Pseudo avant-garde" jazz is a thread killer, it would seem. Green Haze might have been a better choice. 4/10 *ducks*
