Real world map of Fallout game area?

but I'm under the impression that the fallout2 map is in another scale than the fallout1 map, since vault13, mariposa, shady sands(NCR) and vault15 are much closer to eahcother... :?:

oh, and that black/grey/white map that Ekarderif posted; the raider base between broken hills and vault city shouldn't be named the Khans...because it isn't, theyre the merc raiders  but aside from that I think it's good

The scales are different on both maps, but in the second map they placed the vaults way too close to the NCR.

Here is an image of the new worldmap I have been working on which covers both FO1 and FO2 areas.

(If you can't access this image, just copy the link and paste it in the address bar of a new browser window or tab.)

In this map I have moved some cities to their corresponding place in real life; locations found in fallout that have been moved are circled in bright green, locations not moved in bluish green, blue circles indicate the original location in FO2 of cities that were moved, Red circles are new locations I intend to put in the map.

The Necropolis is supposed to be Bakersfield according to the FO bible, if that was the case they screwed up because they put it roughly where Barstow is instead. Since I don't recall any mention or reference to Bakersfield in the actual game, I have left the Necropolis in its original place and will just assume it is Barstow and not Bakersfield.

EDIT
The size of this map is 2100x3000 pixels (6x10 tiles), the original FO2 map was 1400x1500 pixels (4x5 tiles); for this reason I moved some places like Vault City, Gecko and Broken Hills further east to get them in line with New Reno, which is now in its real location; and the NCR which I placed roughly where the original Shady Sands was placed in FO1. Vaults 13 and 15 have also been moved further away from the NCR.

Yes. It worked the second time (now). Probably has something to do with... I have no idea what. First I opened it in the Firefox (new tab), and I got 403. Then I copied the link and tried in Opera and Internet Explorer, and kept getting 403. Closed Firefox, went away for a bit, returned, re-opened the thread, copied the link in IE and everything goes fine.

A few problems I've noticed. Mariposa is suppose to be at the western edge of the desert, not eastern, and Lost Hills is at the eastern, not western. Otherwise, very good. I guess the Vault City/Gecko move was a matter of interpretation, since Fallout 2 has an awful map.

The military base was misplaced in FO1 and FO2, unless there is another place called Mariposa at the western end that does not show on my maps; I put it roughly where the actual city of mariposa is South East of lake McClure.

Lost Hills was also misplaced in the FO1 map, it is a bit off in mine as it should be about one or two squares to the right.

Not quite, it starts from the Northern California border; Oregon is not covered and Klamath is not Klamath Falls but Klamath in the Norther California coast.

In the FO map, the real location of Klamath should be in the next square down to the left from Arroyo; instead it was placed roughly where Happy Camp is. I haven't moved it however since I can't change the Elder's lines to say Klamath is to the South West and not to the East.

The location on the world map is titled just "Klamath", but it is referred to as Klamath Falls some places too.

They may have intended it to be Klamath Falls, but if you look at the top left of the map, you'll see it matches with the Northern California border and Oregon is not there.

It certainly looks like they did a good job researching the locations they put in the game.
