See, after you scan an image, especially one that's been done using pencils, it's essential to turn up the contrast for it, using a graphic processing program, such as Photoshop (You can d/l the trial version from www.adobe.com), Corel photopaint (ugh) or, eventually, the freeware GIMP (definitely the worst program I've ever used for graphic processing).
True enough, however, I used to run Photoshop, until it crapped out on me and refused to start up any more. Just for toying, though, and for mere toying there pretty much the same level.
