Removing quest clutter

toneone

First time out of the vault
Hey folks, sadly there is no "Short question&answers" thread ´round here.
So i have to make a whole thread for my tiny problem. :D

Like Fo3, NV has these wonderfull quest items which clutter up your misc tab and can not be removed without some trickery.
So i went into the console, used the baseid´s listed at the end of this article
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Wheel_of_Fortune

But using the "player.removeitem" command only brings the console to say "GetItemCount>>0.00" and nothing happens.
Im quite sure it is not a syntax problem, otherwise the console would tell that i does not recognize the command line.

Can anyone offer some insight?

regards

I think there was some mod somewhere that makes you able to drop this items. Though, dunno the name of it, but it must be on nexus.

It's still annoying to have the shit in the inventory. :>

you can remove them with console commands, and as long as you don't care about achievements it wont be any problem.

Didn't the most recent patch make most quest items weightless?

Again this thing? Ok, one more time...

Quest items are weighless, even before the patch.

It doesn't matter if they weigh 50 tons or 0.1 lbs, they do not count against the carry capacity.
Geeezzz.

But yes, having that endless list is annoying.

Do you really use the 'Misc.' section of your inventory that much?

Well, I also have a not droppable Codac camera in my weapon slot.

If you want to hint towards me that I shouldn't use a console version, because of lack of mods... I don't even have a console.

Thx for all the pointers people!
Ill especially look into that community patch, and the mods...damn i need to keep of that till my first vanilla run through.
I found so many mods that i want to try while just looking at the one for the quest items. :D
Though i am still looking for a texture replacer for the combat armors.
Damn that reinforced armor looks ugly!

Though i have to say, in Fo3 the mods were kind of necessary to keep the game fresh after a certain point. I dont feel the same way about NV up to now(Lv.22-lots of shit done)
On the whole i am very, very pleased with my purchase of NV.
The game has deliverd very much enjoyment up to this point, and the constant Fo2 references kept me smirking at various points.
I am pretty sure that i will get the Dlc´s, a thing which i have not done for Fo3.

thx again folks

I agree, and the replay value is immense. I never get tired of making a new file, to make a new guy a little bit different than the last one, and take a different path through the game - using what you learned on previous files.

On my newest file, I went to Benny first, then to Boulder City, then Novac, then Primm. Reverse order. Pretty awesome.
