    Wikipedia on carpal tunnel syndrome:

Even so it might be a good idea to start thinking about how much time you spend doing the same stuff over and over. I for one completely stopped masturbating when I read that, but then I realised it's all about finding a healthy balance. I downloaded this awesome application called workrave to help me with that.

It is freeware and easy to install (linux/win).

So, have anyone here had any troubles with RSI or similar? Do you think it is worth it having an application like this running on your system?

i've got RSI (like most people in the IT business).

can suck, but it's still manageable in my case.

Every once in a while I get a little bit of pain in my wrists, but in general I haven't experienced much of a problem with it, despite how much time I sit using typing / working a mouse.

Maybe I haven't been masturbating enough either?

For some this would mean less masturbation...

    For me, much much more!

In all seriousness though, I've been playing video games and doing computer work for the majority of my life and I've never had any pains in my wrist or fingers...

Then again, I am double jointed... (bends thumb all the way back)

the mouse is a pretty stupid design. I like the vertical mouse and pen for navigating the pc.

So some have been experiencing pains because of their computers. How do you guys feel about having a program like that installed? it is made to ease the pain. Maybe it would be possible to convince your boss that you need it installed. Consider the breaks.. ;)

There are other factors that play into this... how far your chair is from your desk, how high your chair, how you sit in your chair, how high your desk is, etc...

I had a lot of trouble til I got a chair on which I could adjust the height. Been pain free for the last five years no matter how much I do the same movements.
