The legendary Scott "Hey Tim maybe we should use a post-apocalyptic setting for Project GURPS" Campbell has all of a sudden surfaced, starting a new studio.<blockquote>The company is led by former EA technical art director Jay Kootarappallil whose former work spans titles including Ratchet & Clank and Medal of Honor. Former Fallout lead concept and game designer R. Scott Campbell co-founded the company and serves as its creative director.

In a release, the company said it intends to focus on original IP, but is also open to working with outside publishers on "interesting titles needing development." It also promises WhiteMoon Dreams titles "will be different through refreshing gameplay, new directions in the visual medium and content that engages the player's mind and hearts rather than just their hands."

Said Kootarappallil, "Our games are our dreams! We want to be in the worlds we're building, dealing with the situations we're creating, and being the characters that we're lovingly crafting. The moon (in our own personal way) signifies our love for the art of game-making. We love making games, we love the people who make them, and we especially love the people who play them!"</blockquote>Link: Fallout, Medal of Honor Devs Form WhiteMoon Dreams.

We'll wait and see what they come up with.

Otoh, it does sound a little bit like what Beth says. 'Our games are our dreams' does sound a little like 'We make the games we want to make'

Anyway, it's good to see that people start new companies and that others therefor can get a job. And it is promising that they say they want to focus on original IP's.

Beh, I'll doubt they'll surface with anything we care about, but it's nice to see Scott landing on his feet.

in the press release it states their working on games for "360, ps3. and the wii". So that's a bit of a disappointment.

I find his love-based design philosophy intriguing. Or amusing. Yes, amusing. Good luck to him and may his pedigree not be just a bullet point on a crappy game.

Geez the work we had in trying to track him down through the years, and now he just pops up :?

Well all the best Scott

Was just about to tip Kharn off about this, but it figures that you cannot beat anyone here at finding fallout-related news.

Oh well.

Less Gears of war-clones out there is better for gamers and the industry as a whole, even if it is console only.

Sounds good so far.

Heh, Kootarappallil (What a name to pronounce! XD ) seems to be quite the romantic.

Wich is the sad part.

GL Scott, best of luck :)

What?

Psychonauts was brilliant. Especially the art design and artwork. The only thing remotely bad about that game was the last level.

lol, Scott, if you need a Network Admin / Playtester / Coffee Guy I'm your man!

(the latter appearantly being the way to go if you want to make headway in the industry)
