There are three:

2.) Rhombus from the BoS in Fallout 1. (60-70 years old)
3.) Some hottie Vault chick. (Titties galor)

Yes, that's right.

You can read more at this DaC thread I started:
Who is TEH SECKRET PLAYA?!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I also posted this in a similar thread on Interplay where somebody was asking about the secret characters:

If the Interplay link doesn't go to my post, YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!

1.) The original Vault Dweller that we all know and love. (50 years old)

They just couldn't resist it could they? They couldn't let him be after killing and robbing his corpse- this even worse then having NMA and Duck and Cover appear in the end credits...

Guesses about the secret characters:
That is what was looking for. Thanks Limey..

Let me start the speculation...

a little familiar to longtime players.... Supermutant?

Maybe someone like "The Master"

Possibly a tribal guy?

Anyone else have any ideas?

There are stupid people, and those guys.

While I don't really pay attention to a lot of the dialogue because its bad, childish, and thinks it's being damn cool all at the same time, and I'm not terribly far into the game, I'll just summarize what's happened so far (this gets really long... sorry):

Your character is a Brotherhood initiate. Your paritcular character's background isn't mentioned in the game, so you have to look it up in the instructions (something I haven't yet done). Your task is to find a group of Brotherhood paladins who've for whatever reason wandered into this town, Carbon. When you get there, you're greeted by a very poorly animated scene showing you that the raiders have taken over the town. The Raider Matron instructs the raiders to do stuff, and orders the two remaining "big, sexy hunks" to follow her. The raiders that didn't follow her all pile into the town bar. Your first quest is to kill all of the raiders in the bar, because the game tells you that no one in this "shit-hole" will talk to you until you've done so.

After you do, you're to go to the mayor and ask him about the paladins. He says he'll tell you if you clear the town's warehouse of radscoprions. Now, this part is as if the rad scorpion cave outside of shady sands in the beginning of Fallout was four "floors" big and had a boss fight at the end. This part is much too long and damn boring. Okay, you beat it, you're now given a key to the gulch of botomless pits. You wade through that and find your way into a cave. Inside the cave it's "OMG betrayal" as you must now fight the mayor who throws grenades at you as raiders pile in the room and get blown up by them (dumb AI). I don't really remember why this occurs, but obviously the mayor is working with the raiders to some extent, and I believe the Brotherhood paladins have supposedly left Carbon at this point. Okay, so you kill the mayor, who, because he's dealing with explosives, has his corpse explode. This explosion is somehow powerful enough to make the cave collapse (cheap looking rocks cave in from the sealing as you're leaving), and the gulch outside shake violently until you return back to town.

I'm going to try and cut this short.

Okay, you get back and now everything is out of control! The bartender has been set on fire! Raiders are now brutalizing civilians and the whore, the, the town doctor, and the Vault Dweller (who you'd find in the bar) have sought refuge in the warehouse! The trader, Jessie (?) stands outside by a corner for your convenience. All right. More tedious bullshit ensues -- you have to hunt down 40 or so raiders per area and only after killing all of them, can you enter the warehouse ("let me in, bitch!" your frustrated character says). Once you do, you go after the Raider Matron, as that's the only way this madness will ever end. This takes a while, and when you reach Jane, you see that she's secretly dealing with the Mutants who you later learn are headed for the Ghoul town, Los which is also where you'll find the paladins. You kill her and return to the warehouse where the Vault Dweller who takes you to Los.

In Los, you find a cult of ghouls who imprison and sacrifice humans. Before I'd last stopped, I ran into their 10 ft. tall leader, who has imprisoned Rhombus. I had to fight him in typical "boss fight" fashion. I died twice because he runs at you with his sword, and the game doesn't really let you defend yourself in any way. We'll see if I play again. Hmph.

theres 2 special guns. Explosive meat sausage, and the slugger but both are in los, and theyre a pain in the ass to get. Read it while I was in the prima guide when I was in EB, clerk looked at me "you gonna buy that?" I replied "nope" and kept on reading.

Okay the chapter on the Vault.

First boss: 7 pissed off machine sausage turrets. After you use 25 stim paks you realize "son of a bitch i could have just taken out the machinery in the other room."

fight your way to artiss where you find out the mutants are after a weapon, well.. no shit.. arent we all?

beat artiss (big ass mutant, use combat shotgun and stay the hell away from his melee attacks), and 2 cloaked mutants pop out of no where and ure in a prison missing an arm with a bad ass blonde chick named Mary in a very revealing vault suit. Id suggest having a one handed weapon for this part. You get to what remains of the vault dwellers in the garden, and you help them escape. This is where im at now.

oh, the vault has a "shop tec" which is probably the coolest thing in the game. But I never imagined the pip boy with a female voice. Go figure.

Yep. They're nightkin. Here's another funny: while the deathclaws in this game don't have hair as they did in Fallout Tacitcs, some of them can use cloaking devices!

Edit:

Oh, and I also suppose it's worth mentioning that the game's final location, an unmarked vault containing FEV, Death Claw nests, and Brotherhood of Steel equipment (how'd that get in there?).

Spoilers...If you care.

I thought it was Vault 1. Which was specially made for scientists which were trying to find a cure for damaged tissue (Your character gets his arm cut off by Attis, and then thrown down into a vault area, and then the vault citizens use their technology and fix you up good.) So then Attis takes his mutant army down there to try to make mutants sterile once again (and the whole 3rd act, your lead to believe that they were after some weapon). Yup thats pretty much it.

Secret Characters are (as stated b4):

Patty: Vault Security officer. She gets killed at the end of the game. I really don't know why the hell a secret character that actually appears in the game and dies would be a secret character.

Rhombus: Rhombus is about 60 or 70. He's an geezer, and isn't to fond of ghouls. He also dies in the game, so another secret character that kinda pisses me off. He reminds me of Solidus Snake. He's even got the eyepatch down.

Vault Dweller: This character also appears in the game and is the final one you get. I think it is cool that he makes an appearence, but I wouldn't go so far to make him playable. If you try to make the game in between Fallout 1 and 2, try not to fuck up the timeline by making the vault dweller go way outta his way to take out Attis and the mutants....again. He was cool to see, but the reminising on Fallout 1 kinda pissed me off, he did it way to much, kinda making sure I got the point.

All the secret characters were kinda thrown in at the end of the game, but having characters that appear in the game as opposed to no characters is better then nothing I guess.

They did have good voice actors. Earl Boen (Terminator 2 star, Dr Silberman), Michael Bell (Raziel), Tony Jay (Elder God), and of course Cam Clarke (Appears in almost every game, Pukk in Beserk and Liquid Snake in Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2) all are incredably good. The dialoge does dound bad, but thats because it's chopped up into fragments so we can ask retarded little questions that don't make a difference anyway. Why not just set up a scene and make it dramatic, like how the whole Legacy of Kain series or Metal Gear Solid does it. That way at least the dialoge will sound more realistic.

The game isn't bad though. I would give it a 7/10 or maybe and 8. But lets get one thing straight here. This game is nowhere as good as Fallout 3 would have been. Cancelling FO3 for FOBOS2 is perhaps the most retarded thing ever. This would have been a good filing game to keep the lesser die-hard fallout fans occupied until FO3 came out, but now that ain't gonna happen, so that kinda sucks. :(

I guess I will give my full review (and reviews on all the games) later.

Oh Ya. No Mutants Allowed and Duck and Cover get thanked in the credits. It says thanks for the laughs duckandcover.net and nma-fallout.com.

the final baddy is Artis the Mutant general
The whole purpose for him to take over this vault was that they where doing genetic research there on curing sterility from radiation and mutation.

Artis took over the vault and injected himself with the serum that cures sterility, but it didnt work, he was still shooting blanks.

Alright well the serum had an alternate side effect. It mutated him horribly, and turned him into "The Master Mark II" big ass nasty bastard.

Thats as far as I got and As far as im going to get. Im going to ft. bliss tomorow and I dont have time to beat the one last mission to get out of the vault alive. Which is easier said then done with the steriod roaches on speed.

bastard pissed me off.

I had 200k worth of bottle caps on the last level, so I stopped by the "shop tec" vending machine and bought 200k worth of amo and stim paks.

so I started with the small stuff... combat shotgun, got him down to half... fucker mutated, restored all his health and turned into a bigger artis.

pulled out the minigun, 1k rounds later switched to the turbo laser rifle.
got him down to 1/10th life... mutated YET AGAIN. this time he blew up when he mutated and thats when he turned into the master mkII
so I had to go thru and beat out one of his eyes, and testicles... er... tentacles... and then pound in his face with a new sausage they made, i forget what its called but its bad ass.

Thanks go to those on DaC who were brave enough to play the game long enough to tell us all of this.
