Seraph's Fallout 2 Patch

Has anybody used this patch?
And would they reccomend this or Celestial's 1.05 Patch?
 
Obviously you reccomend your patch.
I'm using it at the moment and its mostly great, but there are still a few of the fixes (mentioned in the readme) that don't work. I just wondered if it was worth trying this one in its stead.
 
If you're talking about items or NPC's then maybe setting the .pro files in data\proto\critters and data\proto\items to Read only will fix this. If the files aren't there you must place them again cause if there aren't set to Read only they will be deleted when you launch the game and thus the fixes will not be implemented. Hope this helps.
 
This is a cool patch but i like the other one more 'cause the armor changes of your party members can be seen :). It would be best if you people worked together on one, not two fan-made patches that you have to chose between.

Methinks this may be the problem, thanks Celestial. Is it only the data\proto\critters and data\proto\items that need to be read only, or are there any others?

(I think for the moment I'll stick with your patch, it seems more comprehensive, but a collaboration is a very good idea)
 
Only the .pro files in those folders must be Read only, the rest can stay as it is.
Also make sure that there is only patch 1.05 and Update1 installed cause installing any previous official or unofficial patches will cause bugs. All fixes from version 1.02 to 1.04 are in 1.05 so there is no need to install them.

I would appreciate a cooperation too, but i fear that is -mostly- senseless since Celest already stated, that he wont develop his "mod" any further ;-(((

Because of this fact(?), I would wish, that Celest releases his "sources" (ssl-files), because then someone else might be able to continue....

By the way: what (de-)compiler for the scripts can/should be used or is used by you scripters ?

It would be great to combine both "mods" , but I noticed, that both use the "fire gecko pelt", but on different IDs - that would be a (minor?) problem while combining (at least one script needs to be changed...)

Okay. Sorry for the interruption, but it seems this hasn't been mentioned anywhere in this thread about FO2 patches.

Fix the damn thing with the attacking ghouls in the Gecko power plant. UK version.

I mentioned this in another, long dead thread about a "new" FO2 patch a while ago, with no results.

Fix the bug, please.

There's also a problem with the Addicts in the Den attacking you (they think you are a demon). Though whether this is a bug, or intended I'm not so sure.
 
Alright I'll fix the ghoul (cause I think there is only one). As for the addicts, no, I think that they should attack you from time to time and besides it doesn't lead to a town slaughter scenario.
 
That's fair enough, I thought it may have been deliberate anyway.

And I hear (in the modding section) that you two are combining your efforts, nice one. I'm looking forwards to 1.06 already.
