Sharon in hospital with massive brain hemorrhage (BBC)

Short version from Reuters;

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who was hospitalized and undergoing surgery on Wednesday, suffered a "massive" brain hemorrhage, the hospital chief said.

"There is massive internal bleeding in the brain. He has been in the operation room for an hour," Dr. Shmuel Shapira told Israel's Channel Ten television.

Expect dumbass Palestinians celebrating this. Expect some chaos. Some blood. Expect yet another vague hope of peace to be shoved out the window. Expect the new movement in Israeli politics to fade and reactionism to rise.

Oh, dear.

War on Iran?

Bombing Iran at least cannot and probably should not be avoided.

But Sharon's succesor is not supposed to be bad at all.

I hope he dies.

I don't thrust that genocidal bastard and his recent do-goody façade...

Well, it's not like he's going to be back in politics anyway, so that's one thing.

That "genocidal bastard" is probably the last hope for peace in the Middle East. Without him, the whole region will go up in flames again and this time there won't be a single person left with desire and mandate to put a stop to bloodshed once and for all.

By "genocidal bastard", I presume you mean a man who's been fighting for Middle East peace, and one of the few hopes for peace in the Middle East.

No, by genocidal bastard he means the same guy who invaded Lebanon in 82, killing tens of thousands in the process.

Ahmadinejad had something to say:
Hopefully, the news that the criminal of Sabra and Shatila has joined his ancestors is final.

I love this guy, he's like a bearded extremist cabaret or something

Sharon?
I really don't know. They say you need a Nixon to go to China.

Maybe they needed a Sharon to make peace in the middle east because a more moderate would just get eaten by the other side.

Didn't the intafada begin when he decided to visit the wailing wall?

Remember Sabra and Shatila?

Besides the Jews had their Zion already- it's called Brooklyn.

now you better not mean that, even if he is the most evil guy on earth doesn't mean he deserves to die.

No, I mean a man who slaughtered hundreds of unarmed people in the refugee camps of Sabra and Shatila, led a gung-ho semi-criminal outfit during the Isreali-Arabic wars, who is responsible for most of the Jewish colonies on Palestine territory from when he was Minister of Residence in the early ninieties (the irony), who built the Israeli Wall and personally triggered the second intifada.

The fact that he dismantled a few colonies he built himself while he is building new ones on the West bank every day doesn't really impress me much. Not to mention that Berlin Wall he's building...

But yeah, HE'S the good guy. HE'S the best hope for peace. The guy that's probably personally responsible for half of the problems in Israel in the first place.

You guys are so easily manipulated it isn't even funny anymore.

Yes it does.

How many lives is the death of one man worth?

More than you think,
Do you know how difficult it to make life ? do ya punk 8) ?
besides all men should have a second chance in life. So for evil men, prison is a way to pay off debt

Yeah, I have made a couple. I just don't know who they are.
How many much does it take to take a life?

How much patience does the world have to show for some punk who takes life.

Being Catholic, I find it difficult to both support the death penalty and abortion, but that's me.

If I can support both, don't expect much sympathy for a punk like Sharon.

Besides, if Sharon dies he'll be in good company with everyone he's managed to kill for his political ambition. I wonder what level of hell he gets?

Well, i see what you mean. But you are better off forgiving someone than take revenge. And its more painful for the punks who takes someones else life by making them regret for their own actions. If you just kill them they never understand what they have done wrong.
And for Mr.Sharon, well god decides. and we as minion have no say

God gets to decide about Sharon only after Sharon dies. Whether God puts things into play so that Sharon dies... well that's up to him.

I have always found it interesting how the peacemakers are often killed off and the killers are allowed to flourish. Perhaps Nyarlarthotep really runs things?

I am actually a big believer in forgiveness. I believe it helps the wounded heart heal, to become complete. Forgiveness is next to godliness. I could forgive Sharon, btu I have little reason not to since I have not been injured. Others might not be so forgiving.

Forgiveness is a choice, a gift from those who are aggrieved, and if the Palestinians don't want to forive, sucks for Sharon.

But this isn't about forgiveness- this is about utility. How much value is one person's life worth. Is it worth another? Ten? Hundreds? Thousands?

How much blood is on Sharon's hands? How much more are you willing to risk should he live.

No, it's a bummer for Sharon and there are others who perhaps deserve this even more. But I can see why a lot of folks will dance in the street over this.

That said, I am not sure if this is the best thing. Perhaps you need a person like Sharon to make peace.

It's the Palestinians who need someone like Sharon.

Good to see you know your place, mortal.

Bah. What's certain now is that Sharon is out of politics. Wether he dies or not is of minor importance.

What's more important is wether his newly adopted centrist party will remain in power, instead of the right-wing freakos he used to work with.

Brighton Beach, IIRC?
