Shi emperor logs added by RP?

First time out of the vault
I played Fallout 2 with killapp's restoration project, since I wanted to experience the game "as it was meant to be" rather than just the best they could do with the 11 months they had to make it. Some of the stuff I know wasn't in the original game, like the "rival" Chosen One and the Cathedral, but other stuff I'm not so sure about- like the Shi emperor's logs which make it clear that the Chinese launched the nukes when American forces took Beijing. This was first hinted at by an archived news report in the Sierra Army depot about America being about to win, which was dated mid-October 2077.

Are both of these logs added by the restoration project? I see no reference to them in the Shi Emperor's wiki entry, but I also had a look at what the RP added and it doesn't say anything about extra logs in either of those places. Presumably someone here knows, so figured I'd ask.

They are added in the game, based on what was published in other games.

Incidentally, I wrote them. How do you like them?

I liked them a lot; it wasn't an important thing to find out (who threw the first stone doesn't really matter afterwards) but it felt like a neat little nugget of knowledge to find nonetheless. I felt for the submarine captain, and it was nice to get something serious and emotional in San Francisco, which was otherwise too full of Wacky Kung-Fu Stereotypes for my tastes.

It would be nice to see something about the press gangs added to San Francisco, atm it is one of the groups which are out there just to be killed.

I mean, they have a name and some things seem to indicate that they were supposed to be developed as a faction (even if minor), such as: recurring fights with Hubologists, specific speech pattern ("join us! be all you can be!", etc), pretty standard equipment (ripper, power fist & plasma pistols, which are neither common nor cheap) just like the mercenaries that attack VC (which have ARs &, iirc, grease guns).
