Shooting rampage in Minnesota

Ok, any thoughts on this. Apparently some kid went a bit happy with a pistol and a shotgun, shot up his grandparents, students and teachers at a small high school on an indian reservation in Minnesota.

Damn long winter in Minnesota.

The Hitler connection??

Or just another kid who felt alienated from his peers and might have had a bit of a messed up childhood?

Did/Do you know anyone who fits this description in your local school?
 
Classical. Family troubles, kid seems lost in life and seeks his way in a hate group or a gang. Gets bullied in school, and decides to 'show them'.

By the way, what a moron. How can you claim to be a nazi while being of native American lineage?

I have no idea however I've heard from many people that the US is a very strange country.

An interesting question Wooz. My bet is that he'd find himself in a crematory in Neu York faster than you can say "Hokka-hey" if his idol won the war.

Perhaps you should have a program to isolate such people and send them to slave labour camps or something?

Also, keep an eye on people on fhis forum who claim being wrongfully opressed for their political beliefs, especially if those beliefs suck.

If you dont give the kid a candy bar, he will shoot you
If you give the candy bar to the kid, and he brakes out, then he will sue you.
If you dont give it to him and he is black, then you get sued from the NCAAP. Simple as that

O, and kids here get away with so much, that kids who get picked on will litterly be brusied. It sucks over here. (unless you want to make money here that is:) )

Also - nazism is an ideology that *could* be recycled to fit any ethnic group as they see fit. The native americans could restyle it so they would the Übermenschen.

It's a political theory, Wooz. It ain't inherently German.

There're many people with Arabian origin who adore Hitler too, for obvious reasons, although they would also belong to a "lesser race" according to this theory... anyway, this kid is simply an idiot.

...which does not make it a less asshole theory, but you're right (even if I would prefer to call it "the race theory", because it does not contain whole naziism, the nationalism as an important element is missing... ehm... well, topic)
 
This kid was quite disturbed, as where the columbine killers who hero worshipped hitler and planned acts of violence to prove themselves.

I have known a few kids that seem to fit the profile, depressed and "dark" they look at things from another plane of existence where they see themselves standing alone outcasts by everyone else.

Fair enough. Still, the already imbecillic theory would sound even dumber in the mouth of a people who almost got exterminated by another ethnic group.

Still, the question that comes to mind with this shooting is - why couldn't he just have started with himself?

It's a funny thing to blame dead people for extended suicide in the present.

At least that saves us the trouble of actually evaluating the events and considering all the myriads of factors that might have lead to that little fuck-up in society.

Why not just blame pop-culture again? It's so much easier if you can "trace" it all down to one single scapegoat, especially if the scapegoat has been used successfully before and there's a major group of people who take any chance to point and complain.

Funny, I thought their darkest day was when their tribe was annihilated after Wounded Knee. This is just an aftershock of what happens when you remove a people's identity, macroscale.

Although in this case I think parenting or the lack thereof is as much at fault. This probably wouldn't have happened (or would have happened only to him) if his home life didn't suck so much. Those of us with parents, be thankful.
