Show your Fallout 2 HQ!

Makenshi

Ahoy, ye salty dogs!
Mine has guards outside, weapon dealers in the left and some "support staff" in "the office":

mychopshop.jpg

Lockers and tables are filled with stuff, organized by type (tools, eletronics, "stuff", armors, medicine, books, "more stuff", food, amunitions (3 lockers with shitloads), explosives, weapons (melee, shorts, longs, bigs, energy).

Be creative!

Never even thought to do such a thing. Nice stuff. :)

I just kept what I needed in the car and dropped off unneeded companions at NCR or some place.

Hah, I did something similarly in FO2 too, just because there was too much stuff to keep around.
So I organized everything inside New Reno's Arms building, in the back room, the one with all the containers.
Explosives, food, clothes, weapons. Each one had their container.
But I didn't leave any companions there or anything...

Inside New Reno's Arms? What of Eldridge's dogs? Don't tell me you kill the poor poochs...

Two other good places for this are the Shark Club Casino (after cleaning the place) and the Ranger's GQ in NCR.

Usually, I use Lara's place as a 1st HQ after she leaves to the church. But I transfer my stuff for bigger places later.

New user here (although playing Fallouts for a decade and lurking this forum for several weeks by now), so hello everyone!

Actually I was always wondering about some end-game setting for the Chosen One and all the party-members, although I've never make such an impressive work as in the opening post. I guess I'm gonna think about something like that in my next playthrough. Anyway, let me present my modest concept of the end-game locations, rather home-sweet-home style than a fortified, hi-tech head quarter:

scr00000.png

First of all, after beating the enclave, saving his tribe etc., the Chosen One gets married in Modoc and moves with his wife and dog to Broken Hills, where he settles in the old Marcus' house. The location is neat, atmosphere friendly with all those mutants and ghouls cohabitating peacefully, only the constantly arguing neighbours might be quite annoying. And those intriguing voices coming from the well... When the Chosen One decides to make some trip to the Wasteland, two robodogs guarding the entrance make sure, that nobody is messing around.

One place where many NPC's have settled down is New Reno. Actually, the Chosen One had become a member of Bishop family long time ago, but Mr. Bishop had some terrible accident while opening his safe, so our character is the one to be in charge here. The guy in leather jacket is Klint (from the Friendly Klint mod, which I used to play for some time). As the best and most attached friend of the Chosen One, actually he is the one to secure his influence in New Reno. All Bishop guards are 100% obedient of course. My character just comes by from time to time to see how the things are going. Do I have to say that he f***s Ms. Bishop every time he's here? (I actually love the concept that Miria stays downstairs when he has fun wih Ms. Bishop)

Another place worth mentioning is the Den. I guess almost nobody argues that it is reasonable to get rid of Metzger but hey, why should I waste the whole place and free those pitiful slaves? Why not take control over the market, with a help of man who knows how to make business? Here Vic enters the stage, being a more ventursome replacement for Metzger, ensuring huge profit for the Chosen One, so he can afford expanding his collection of Power Armors.

Other NPC's story, not worth a picture:
[spoiler:4392d2875b]- As Shark Casino became my main residence in New Reno, Sulik was placed in the underground training hall, where he can work on his musculature and is ready to act anytime he's needed
- Skynet is also there, usually on the second floor, tracking every move of Angela Bishop, who knows what really happenned to her father. I don't want to make Ms. Bishop sad by killing her daughter, though. I guess also that New Reno is the best place to investigate the nature of humanity, which is a Skynet's big interest, isn't it?
- Cassidy took charge over Salvadore's Bar. He's selling booze as he used to in Vault City, living upstairs and keeping a nice collection of unique shotguns and rifles over there
- Marcus lives in the Cat's Paw. That's right, he is not moving a lot out of there! Maybe after a year or so have passed, we could see a result of his supposed breeding capabilities...
- Tha Desperado Casino has been completely overrun. Only some homeless druggies hang around near the entrance. The interior is a hunting ground for the fearsome Goris. What is he actually doing here? Well, his main taks is to guard the one upstairs which is ->
- Myron, who deserves to be kept alive for all the superstimpacks he made so the Chosen One could apply silenkills constantly. Anyway, he is too dangerous to be let freely. He may live there, he may use as much alcohol and jet he wants, he may call for chicks. Not much more he needs, I believe
- Lenny lives in the Old Ghoul house in Broken Hills. A good place for him to recover his health and live the rest of his life with dignity[/spoiler:4392d2875b]

Well, that's it from me. Sorry if you consider it totally off-topic. I'm currently about to start my adventure with the Restoration Pack for the first time, and I'm going to establish a whole network of real HQ this time, so I hope to post here again soon.

This thread is highly amusing, and I'll be making my own contribution next playthrough -- I might use the SAD, or perhaps the VC Vault. We'll see.

Don't Eldridge's dogs basically go inert if you kill Eldridge? It just seems like I never have a problem with them after I super-stim him to death during the day... but it's been a while, I might be wrong.

All right, here we go with the first shot! I'll define the main character as "me" from now on.

After going through first few areas (Klamath, Primitive Tribe), I decided to set up a basic headquarter before going further into the Wastelands. As someone above mentioned, abandoned Lara's house is a perfect place. It seemed a nice idea to establish some business over there, and as firearms are still quite rare at that point and there is a lot of chems in the Den anyway, I had to think about something more basic. So I decided to make profit from the best this world has to offer: crop and animal products. Vic appeared to be quite handy here, with a lot of knowledge he gained from his constant travelling. So he is now taking care of a garden we have backhouse. He is also frying some food for all of us. Spears have been used to delimit the garden. If these druggies trespass again, I'm gonna shoot their balls with my magnum (hey, shouldn't that fertilize the soil?). Sulik is guarding the entrance and also skinning geckos and preparing skins for sale. Together we also make some healing powder from what Vic grows in the garden (How do we know the secret shaman knowledge? Well, Grampy Bone told us!). As you can see bags with powder are laying in the lobby, ready to use or sell, as we are selling these among with gecko's skins to everyone interested. I'm managing the office, going hunting geckos with Sulik and helping both guys with they work. What is our biggest issue is that we would need one more reliable man for guarding purposes, so Sulik could concentrate on other things than sitting at the entrance. I guess I'll head east soon, something tells me I'll find some rifle-expert there...
Oh, and we hold all the unique and important items in the backroom, which is also my bedroom. As you may notice, there is a trap set just behind the door. If someone breaks into when we're off, he's gonna regret that straight away.
More to follow as I advance in the game.

Knock, knock! No one's there? Well, I hoped some people would contribute here as well for fun of all of us, but nevermind. As I had a longer break from Fallout world, I recently came back to the game and this is a new HQ I've just established. As you may see my team took control of one of the central locations in the biggest city in the game, with a bar being a nice cover for trading weapons and other stuff. Vic is the salesman of course, with Lenny managing the warehouse. Cassidy is back in his main role and Myron... yeah, it wasn't difficult to guess what his role would be. Finally, you definitely wouldn't like to mess with the bouncer :)

I know you're pretty much doing this by yourself, but once I get my gaming computer back (annoyed at brother, who said he would only have it for 2 weeks, not 5 months), i'll start print screening my bases. I'll probably be getting restoration pack as well so it'll be the same game as yours' pretty much.

The Den's Brotherhood operation. A small one man base with an extra inflatable doll for those lonely nights.

I mostly use the San Fran BOS Base, I spend most of my time in San Francisco and the NCR so I just store all my spare items there.

Is this part of the RP or something :???: Bah, now I have to boot FO2 again to check it out.

In a upcoming version, most probably. I would place a light with low distance in the north eastern corner, btw. to light up the walls a little bit. It looks cut-off right now.

Someone asked for the Brotherhood bases at the Den and NCR to have an actual underground area - Killap thought it was OK, so I made them for the next release of the RP. But these places will only be accessible if you kill the Enclave, I don't think you can enter before that. I like the idea of killing the guards and entering their base...but in doing so the rest of the BOS become hostile.

The original guards were actually completely unarmed...but not in the RP 2.2, they will now have pistols.

@Lexx - yeah they can still be fine tuned. I'm waiting for Killap to get the RP 2.2 ready for testing. Maybe you can be one of the testers Lexx, you know your way around the game better than most. I think he wants just a small group to find any bugs before the final release.
