Slayer Perk

First time out of the vault
I bought FO and FOII in a dual-jewel combo pack that didn't include a manual and the one that is programmed on the disc just has corrections to the paper manual. I havn't been offered the slayer perk yet(but heard it's great for unarmed characters)and don't have a resource to let me know what stats I need to develop for it to be available. Any help would be appreciated.


On a side note, what's the highest possible percentage one might reach on a given skill? Right now I have unarmed at 200%. I blasted a super mutant in the eyes with my spiked brass, effectively blinding him, and then followed it up with a kick to the groin, ending the miserable creatures life. I think this game is the best I've ever played.

In short, all HtH hits are turned into critical hits... Damn, that's a good perk. To use it, you need: 8 agility, 8 strength, 80% unarmed and you must be level 18.

If I remember correctly you still need to make a succeful luck roll... Meaning that with a luck of 6... you'll have 60% to hit.

I might be wrong though.
 
I'm pretty sure that you don't need a luck roll for Slayer, only for Sniper.

On a side note: Darkwalker, your sig says "Wine is fine, but whiskey's quicker." Shouldn't that be "Wine is fine, but liquor's quicker"?
 
are you sure you need luck for sniper? if i remember correctly, all my hits were critical even with characters with luck 5 or 4. maybe i'm wrong.
 
Yes you make a luck roll for sniper.

And you need 6 or 8 luck (can't remember) for the perk, so I doubt you got it with 4 or 5...
 
nonsense. the noble and powerful Ratty needs not some foul luck rolls to cause a critical successfully! power to the Rats! when Rats rise, resistance in unwise! :P :lol:
 
Slayer
The Slayer walks the earth! In hand-to-hand combat, all of your hits are upgraded to critical hits- causing destruction and mayhem.
Number of Ranks.......1
Requirements............8 Agility, 8 Strength, 80% Unarmed, Level 18


Sniper
You have mastered the firearm as a source of pain. With this Perk, any successful hit in combat with a ranged weapon will be upgraded to a critical hit if you also make the Luck roll.
Number of Ranks..........1
Requirements..................8 Agility, 8 Perception,80% Small Guns, Level 18

So these two perks (Sniper, Slayer) cancel out all the work you've done jacking up your critical chance rate? Mine was at 34%....
and what exactly does "if you also make the Luck roll" mean?

A luck roll is...a luck roll...If your Luck is 6, 6 out of 10 times you'll get a critical.

Slayer negates critical chance rate, yes. However, I think Sniper leaves the Critical Chance rate, so that you make a roll on your CC ánd a Luck roll...I wonder...
