So long...

Fuck you, Interplay. Go fuck yourselves sideways with a chainsaw, you fucking retards. I hope you go bankrupt, and that wish will probably be fufilled quite soon as no-one wants to buy the shit games you produce now. Arseholes.

i don't think using violence would get us Fallout 3...that would just get you into jail. don't be dumb: violence sucks and doesn't work.

Good to see you back JR Jansen.

Mr. Teatime we did our best right, we`ve made all we could do, i think that`s important. Thanks for the good times we´ve had in the last months, shame that you can now say "i was right all along", it really is sad.

Keep up with the good music ok?

See anybody laughing?

BTW: "Fu**" you,"fu**" them and that kind of stuff. Ok I understand that most of you are pissed of on IPLY but don't behave like a 10 year old's. Briosa, Odin is this allowed?

Then fine with me. And Briosafreak when you're gonna show us this special stuff?

I`ll show something soon, but since it didn`t came from the former BIS i need to check it before i post it.

And what is it? Screens?

Something must be done...

Well, as a student of Business and Economics I can of course understand the reasons behind this. Supporting BiS presented a running cost that IPLY is not ready to cover right now. What IPLY has simply not understood at ALL (stupid bastards) is that Fallout3 was to be one revolutionary and excelent game (well, maybe not revolutionary but still incredibly good!) BiS was always a developing studio that was focused on quality. We all remember what happened when IPLY wanted to push Fallout 2 to the market before it was properly bugfixed. Well, I guess we all agree who was to blame for this.
I can't believe that IPLY has put the money on the line to produce half of an excelent game and then throw it in the bin! They either should have canned it a lot earlier or let it develop and collect the revenue! But NO!!! IDIOTS !!! Well as Scott Adams put it so nicely:"Management is nature's way to remove idiots from the production process". People get promoted higher and higher so they have less impact on the actual production. Problem is that up there they occasionally have the chance to ruin things completely. And that's why managers generally should shut up and stay on the golf course or spend time with their mistresses...

I have 2 things in mind though that could save the day. I know that it is crazy but hey, desperate time require desperate measures and personally I cannot just sit there and accept that some corporation can do whatever they feel like and ignore their responsability to the community.

1. Find a new publisher to buy the Fallout license and take all the BiS folks on board.

2. Privately continue to develop this game. I know this is a huge risk for everyone involved but just try and see it like this. We start selling Fallout 3 now and have people pay for it. Use that money to continue development. The great thing about it is that the money comes tax free (as we are just giving donations to the poor BiS folks) and no money is lost to administration or fucking IPLY. I am definitely ready to pay my 50$ to get Fallout 3 in a year or so. I don't care when. I care THAT I can get it. The important thing on this idea is that we have to make sure that the BiS team has the rights on the VanBuren stuff that has been done so far. They wouldn't even need to buy the license off IPLY as they could just change the name of the game and simply change all the bits that are being copyrighted by IPLY. I don't mind if my gadget is called PipBoy or PipGear (well, they can come up with better names I suppose...)

Still. this is my proposition. Anybody with me?

Phil

P.S. I am aware that I have never posted here before but I am a desperate fan of Fallout who checked the IPLY forums and NMA at least 3 times a day to see if anything new happened. And I am crazy enough to seriously consider my plan possible!

I got confirmation, i´ll put one thing in a few hours, you`ll see then.

Brio...you do realise that if this has anything to do with Fallout 3 and is good, that i'm going to burst out in tears...

Times like this, I wish I knew the first thing about system cracking (well, I think it has something to do with the internet at least). Source code and art shouldn't just sit around and gather dust all day. Hell, it's a more probable aproach than waiting another year or two for interplay to tank and sell it off (is there really a whole lot to boycott right now?).

i know a little about hacking and the chance of finding VB related stuff on the internet is very small, since not many game developers are dumb enough to not realise that putting stuff on a pc that has connection to the internet is the same as just handing it over to a crook.

I guess this is the reason to why they never announced it in the first place.

I'd be willing to make a monthly "donation" of say US $50-100 (depending on my expenses that month, and i should be recieving my waiver to early promotion to E-4 [Specialist] with a nice little pay-raise lumped in) But as far as it goes.. I'm willing to help back any course that the former BIS team is willing to take.

This is fucking insane. I don't know whether to go berserk and destroy everything in sight, or just burst out in tears. I'll probably do both.

God damn it! I have played and loved Fallout and Fallout 2. I even liked Fallout Tactics. When news arrived that Fallout 3 was in development, I was as happy as a young asocial boy with no girlfriend could be. I knew I had already waited for years, and would probably have to wait a couple of more years before it was actually finished, but atleast it would be made. I would finally get one of my most wanted game-sequels ever.

And now this?!

I really don't know what to say..my dream is shattered.

I'm so very sorry for all you BIS people who got fucked over by the idiocy of capitalism. Please, allow me to give you all a hug...

Good luck in the future, guys. We love you.

What if we all teamed up and bought all of the shares to IPLY? they're only 7 CENTS a share. PITIFUL. We could then own Interplay and its subsidiaries and reinstate everyone at BIS and then CANCEL the HELL outta FOBOS and FOBOS 2  , and then make FO3 in all its glory :D .

I really don't know if this is remotely possible, or if I'm just talking nonsense here, but there ya go.

Alas, more than half of IPLY is owned by the Caen Bros, iirc. So we could buy the other half, but majority control is impossible. Unless we bought them out...

We should just buy them out. I remember reading that Interplay had a measly $7000 in the bank. I'll bet if all the fallout fans that cared enough contributed something to a collective fund, even a dollar or two, we'd have more money than interplay did. If we hosted some sort of fundraising ( idk, like the sort of stuff we all did in high school) we could probably raise enough money to buy at the Caen brothers, or at least have a majority of the shares.

But hey, if it didn't(or wouldn't) work, I'd be VERY supportive of all the former BIS employees creating their own company.

By the way, I'm serious about the buying-out thing
