So thats it, I cant continue...

First time out of the vault
Well the Brotherhood Of steel gave me a quest, go to the Glow and bring proof that u have been there..

Anyway, Im done with the GLow, all levels completed..

But Im Radiated... I got like 4 Rad-Away, and some X's ..

And If I start travel.. I die..

And even If I "Eat" those Rad-Away, the radition doesnt go away...

=(

What shall I do?

Revert to an earlier save and eat the Rad-X right before you enter the square with The Glow in it. The entire area is pretty dangerous, especially around topside.

This should work as long as you have sufficient Rad-X to get a substantial resistance, and you cannot rest there. I don't know if you're even allowed to, but resting in radiated areas tends to give you lethal amounts of radiation quickly.

I've been trying everything, there is no editors that can remove radiation =/ .. I even tried to raise my Radiation Resistance to 100% , still die when I try to travel away..

when you play fallout you have to:

save

save

save

save

save

save

save

save

save

save

save

save

did i mention that you had to save often?

Munch enough rad-x to get a high resistance, then use the RadAway to get rid of the existing radiation. If that doesn't work, you're screwed.

You should ALWAYS save before you're doing something dangerous. There are enough save slots anyway.

yayaya,.. I though that I would be no problem to loose the radiation with Rad-Away.. =/

Anyway, I found a Trainer who Made Rad-Awawy from stimpacks..
It took 220 Rad-Aways to remove my radiation..
But it say "Chem" in red text.. dunno what that means,
But still,,.. If I try leave the area, I die within 2 hours.. Why??
Radiation is Gone now!

Took me a while to realize that rad-away removes radiation for a period of time, not only one 25p dose :)
Anyways, save - save - save . . It´s being said in the manual for lots and lots of times ;)

Chem means that you are addicted to a drug, in this case Rad-away. You took a few too many doses of it ;) Not sure, but it might be that your addiction is so severe that your character dies because of it.

Save lol ... Come on.. HOw could I know Rad-Away didnt Remove Radiation? .. Crappy Game,...
Well then, I guess I just continue play Tactics, uninstalling this shit game.

Thanks for the help anyway!

It is perhaps more on your level, yeah.

Thats not the way to go dude!
ALWAYS look on the description on items before you are going to use it, especially if your life will depend on it.

And its abit stupid to blame the game for a mistake YOU made.

Rad-Away removes a certain dose of radiation, not the entire amount ... you cant just expect it to be a miracle cure and have you're radiated ass saved by divine intervention.

before entering the glow, take 3 Rad-X pills (4 max), work through the Glow on a steady pace, but dont hurry too much either (you got enough time to PLAY a bit if you wanna). when you come back up you shouldn't even be radiated at all...

sure, go play craptics and uninstall one of the best games ever made...

don't go insulting FO1 on this forum dude, you'll end up with a custom avatar and a sore ass...

I believe RadAways have cleansed the radiation from your PC's body. 25 radiation lost immediately after injection of each. 220x25 = 5500. I can't believe you've lost this much radiation and still have enough on you to fry your brain. Perhaps you've been badly irradiated for the script to trigger regardless of your rad count decrease - I've little idea how the scripts work.

I'm sure 220 doses are enough to remove all the radiation you might have on you. Check the character sheet to find if you're irradiated or use the geiger counter to estabilish your count!

There's no shame in restarting Fallout. The game isn't that long anyway.

2 Rad-X are more than enough, giving 50% resistance each. You can get them on your way in Necropolis if you can't or don't know where to buy them.

NB: One can make it to the dead Paladin and back without Rad-X nor RadAway whatsoever, and still make it to the BOS alive - but one's got to know where one's going and make haste.

Oh yeah, and be careful about denigrating Fallout and praising Tactics here. It's bad for your health.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Of course its a good game.
Im just so f*cking mad about this..
As u said, its not long,.. not long at all, if u compare to F2,
But still, I have wasted some hours.. Thats what make me mad.
And the worst is, I dont feel to re-start. So I just uninstalled it =S
Maybe I start play it in the far future, who knows ;)

cya, and thx!

I love it when people say "I've wasted hours!"

Hello, silly goose! You're playing video games! Even if you complete the game, you've still wasted hours of your life, because not many people get anywhere in life playing games.

PLAY ON!

Mohrg

Hmmmm....insulting Fallout 1. My blasphemy sensor was going beserk. Good thing he caught his tongue. Back to subject: I am pretty sure the Brotherhood guard warned you about the Glow being BADLY RADIATED....didn't he? And when playing a POST NUCLEAR game, do you often over look the name of a location such as The GLOW? I haven't played FO1 in a long while (still waiting for my copy to arrive at my door...) but I am pretty sure you get a loud and clear warning from the brotherhood guards before you go to the Glow. Then again, I could be wrong, and it's all just a tragedy.

Not if one's dull enough to miss Darrel's float meassage and refrain from speaking to him.

Crappy game?

Well its pretty common in games to fall into situations where you die, because you don't understand the survival tactics needed. I think that you are basically supposed to go to the glow and die as a new player, so you see the dangers of the world.

Reminds me of icewind dale when you don't realize that if you get poisoned without antidote you're in big trouble. Once you learn that having necessary medicinals is the only way to survive, you don't make that mistake again.

I wonder, would the game be better if it was too easy? I think not.

The fallout addicts often wish they didn't know so much about the game, wish there was still some challenges. I'm disappointed that there were not more radiation perils in FO2, and that poison is so weak in FO that its not really a threat at all.

Enjoy the challengers while you still can!
Later you'll be wishing there was stuff you still didn't know...

Yup. I never keep a single antidote on me. I've only needed Rad Away twice in FO2 (depending on random encounters). I've never used RadX in FO2 come to think of it.

The only way to get as much fun out of the game once you know it is to play a stupid character just to see the new dialogue tree. Or play as a junkie, munching drugs whenever you get them. But those scenarios can only get you so far.
