Uh... Dude_obj, I thought you'd meant "The Fallout Series" whereas you must've meant the original Fallout 1 game. There is but one dose of antidote that can be put to use other than bartering there, indeed.

Usually, by the time you get to the point where you're facing down centaurs (in FO1 AND FO2), you're so well armed that they shouldn't even get the chance to see what you look like. In that situation, though, poison could be a serious threat. But by that system of thinking, so could radiation if you run into the toxic waste dump encounter a few dozen times on the way to Klamath.
 
To the topic starter:

I am quite sure you wanted to play and finish FO1 just so you can brag about it and thinking this would make feel more welcomed here not because you actually liked it, thing proven by the fact that you didn't wanted to restart it and decided to use cheats and then prefered to play FOT (the game that probably introduced you the series).

Correct me if I'm wrong.
