Something...strange.

No, cause this is not a Russian poster. It's an USSR poster, which no longer exists, as you know ;)

Russia still have legal rights over everything created by the USSR-government.

. . . because Soviet posters are *cool*, and it's even *cooler* to use them as references these days.

Yuck! Textures are really poor in this game.

Ugh.

People.

This is awesome, especially if it was intended. Might indicate that the USA became the USSR of the Fallout world.

I actually have reproduction of that poster in my stack of Soviet posters.

Don't see the problem; cold war propaganda was stylistically different between the US and USSR but they adopted it well, and using posters as the basis of in-game propaganda is an old trick employed by many companies (armee Troika anyone?)

What.

Where will YOU be when the holocaust comes?

Well if you're Russian you're probably going to get dragged into a ditch and covered in petrol by Germans.

Sorry, my brain did a weird thing in the morning.

I meant to write that it's ironic that the anti-commie USA would use a communist-style propaganda poster.

Actually Grizzly, the US in the 50's with McCarthyism, Hoover and Barry Goldwater were pretty close in methodology and propaganda with Stalinism in many respects. It wouldn't have taken much for the US to have deviated through it's nuclear anti-commie paranoia to go all the way.

I think that the original Fallout with the newsreel of the US invading Canada and executing dissidents shows that the US became as brutal as Stalinist USSR was.

What really interests me in the Fallout lore is that it's not the USSR that is the main enemy of the US but China. What happened to the Soviets?

Since they're not mentioned pretty much anywhere, and according to the article at The Vault they had somewhat peaceful relations with the USA, it's possible that they were either just overshadowed by China or were "neutral" in the matter of the Great War.
