What about the oceans? Fish, plants, shellfish... Also isn't anything made of metal more likely to hold radioactive particles? So wouldn't canned food be kind of out?

Any canned food that was not exposed to fallout, as in buried or stored underground, would be safe for until the food inside rotted.

PA films tend to not actually research what A PA world might actually be like. I like the PA movies where they don't eat canned food at all.
