Hi, i tried the manual installation, but after the stand by screen the game chrashes back to windows. win2000 doesn´t seem to have a compatibility option by right clicking the .exe.
What could i do?

Fantastic, however disabling the video card gets around the "cannot display at 640x680" problem... Back to square one?

Unfortunately, yes. It doesn't happen for all architectures and configurations, so disabling the video card is still a fix for many people. I've just posted the problem so you know what it is you run into. Disabling the video card or decreasing hardware acceleration also got rid of the blackout bug, but due to the problem with the disabling of te video card, I'm still stuck with it and have no option left but to disable as many background tasks that might interfere with drawing.
