This reminds me that i have to give the Stalker series another shot. Played all 3 games to completion, but i barely remember anything from the games themselves.

This is STALKER in a nutshell, excluding the awesome backstory, progression and russia/ukranian stuff.

I need to play Stalker still.

They will be on my list once I get a PC.
 
Played lost alpha,

story is moronic involving aliens and the Illuminati (im not kidding)

voice acting is atrocious

levels are long back and forths

Kinda hated it.
 
Don't think this is for me. Currently playing call of chernobyl, Pretty much all the maps from all the stalkers games including some cut content glued toggether for a long long playthrough. You can also decided what faction you want to be in, Everything from a crappy bandit to the monolith.

Quite fun but a bit too much combat in a lot of zones and a really small ammount of real quests so far.

There is also a misery version that i haven't tried yet.

Edit: Apperantly there is a lot of addons that fix some problems. But i didn't touch them as most doesn't specify that they actually do.

2nd game is good but has many flaws

I dont understand why people like call of pripyat so much, imo its a piece of boring shit.
 
Really? I could never even finish Clear Sky because it's such a stupid mess. It's still buggy to the point of being unplayable, the story sucks and all the mechanics are broken.
Call of Pripyat was a lot better in comparison. There was at least one underground level in that one.

CoP was more polished and had better gameplay but it was indeed rather short and shallow in some parts. But the pros outweight the cons for more playthroughs especially since it has the best mods.
 
I think each of the STALKER games has its issues, but they're all frankly equal in my book.

The non CoP ones have issues with bugs, which is a shame, but thankfully mods can fix it...And at least the games have the excuse of being stuck in development hell, being made by drunk ukranians, and actually being a unique story with interesting concepts.

CoP has the best gameplay and lack of bugs...But its story and quests are a little flat.

Clearsky is the most interesting, being a prequel, but has the most bugs.

Shadow is probably the most 'balanced', although its the oldest in terms of gameplay and tech.
