Strange sounds in the Mojave

While wandering leisurely through the Mojave under the cover of night I heard a strange sound, a strange breathing sound, I looked around to see if it was something in the room, but no, it was the game, has anyone else experienced this? If so can you explain it?

More importantly what is that other sound you hear periodically, I don't know how to describe it which doesn't really help. As if a super hero just came into the room or something... seriously can't describe it. Oh well.
