It was ok at the time, but the gimmicks wear thin, along with the genre sadly. Action movies are on the decline imo.

I disagree. I'd say we're exiting the dark age of action movies that the matrix created and getting amazing movies like mad max 4, John wick, hardcore henry, and Logan to name a few.

Hardcore Henry was crap. John Wick is good but they will whore him out like all the rest. We don't need 10 more Mad Max movies. We don't need 5 more Die Hard movies with a younger guy. We need originality. John Wick is Hitman + James Bond. Period. Nothing original. I love it due to the choreography and acting - not the plot. Plot is where these movies fail.
I mean once they started ruining Die Hard, Lethal Weapon scripts were interchangeable? It makes all of them run together when you have your black and white guy, both kinda different escaping huge explosions and quipping the whole time. Yeah, Die Hard 3 was good guys. It was the 90's. Now stop.
They still try to pull off that same dynamic enough to where Sam Jackson and Ryan Reynolds spoofed it.

BTW they're talking about a fifth lethal weapon film called lethal finale. I am opposed to the title. Fuck you the more there are the more necessary it is to number em.
