Tactics = not liking me

I looked for a problem like this one on the forum, but didn't find one. If I missed it, could I get the link to it pls. Thx.

Installed, patched w/ 1.27, Windows XP

Upon starting the game, it skips the intros, and goes directly to the main menu, and then automatically alt-tabs to desktop. Each time I try to reenter the game, it flashes the main menu, then auto alt-tabs out again.

I've reinstalled many times, tweaked w/ DirectX a little, installed higher versions of it, lower, the one on the Tactics CD, nothing works.

It's strange cause I've had Tactics on this computer before, and it worked fine...whatever. If there is no solution, Tactics has just earned my everlasting hatred.

Disregard this post. The problem persists. It worked only once, then after that, the problem resurfaced....





The stupid program for some reason thought I didn't have enough disk space (I've encountered this problem with F1 and F2, but at least those games give you an error message saying it).

Fuck you, Fallout Tactics, for not informing me of a stupid error that I could have fixed in 2 seconds.

Nevermind, I fixed the problem.

I just tweaked the virtual memory settings so that the system determined the page file size.

Wow, look at this, the entire evolution of a problem, from citation to tinkering to solution, all in three posts. Heh.

Looks like you had success with fixing your problem, good work. Though perhaps a little more time working on the problem before posting would be in order, as this thread shows.
