Tactics Says "Incorrect Disc"

as far as I know there was a problem with disk 3 for some people, and a patch/fix was released for it, I never had this problem and never needed the patch.

Which would only affect installing as you can use any of the 3 disks to play the game. And most recent compilations have been on one dvd.

In your 14 Degrees East/Fallout Tactics/core folder check that the file cd.cfg is pointing to the right drive.

I'm having a similar issue, I've installed on 3 different PC's with 3 different OS's. Keeps asking to "insert a fallout tactics CD". I have bought the DVD bundle with Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics. How do I make sure the "cd.cfg" file is pointing to the right area? What is the right area, ie, file etc?

Also when I look at the DVD contents, it has two folders "disc 2" and "disc 3" and no "disc 1". Could this be an issue that is affecting?

Any help would be good as most of the companies on the disc help are no longer around

I getting the same error

I just purchased the fallout1,2 and tactics DVD bundle, got home and played a lil of Fallout 1

now ima loading up Fallout tactics and getting a insert Cd error.

If I cant solve in the next day or two, ima taking it it back to EB and getting my money back. Legit people shouldnt have to deal with this shit.

I've tryed so far doing google searches but found nothing on this issue as of yet. only this thread

What sort of file structure does the dvd have? And what does the cd.cfg say for the path?

Also is there in the cd2 & cd3 folders files called cd2.vol, cd3.vol?

yes both cd2 and cd3 folders r there

my cd.cfg says

{cdPath} = {D:\\}
{installType} = {full}

But what is the file structure of the DVD? Since there are 3 games in the pack are the install files and cd2 & cd3 folders in a seperate folder i.e. Fallout Tactics? If so try editing the cd.cfg file to point to that folder.

Well I found a way around it for now. Downloaded a No CD patch rather than taking it back to the store, I been still interested in playing it.

It working now so ima leave it at that and save futher hassle. unless the game makers come out with a patch which addresses the issue.

Yep. Now Tactics is back on the new computer, having been lost to a power surge for the last one. It's been a long time, but I won't have time to check out what people have been doing modding-wise until after my exams. I have my multiple disks in their case around somewhere, but I don't think I'll look for alternative solutions.

Anway for curiosity, the cd2&3 folders do contain cd2.vol and cd3.vol. They probably just dumped CD1 there with everything else.
