Все умрут, а я волномут
Or after all the oil and other rare minerals and metals become scarce. This "Or" is why this thread is in general discussion.
Coal and turf are still plentiful compated to oil, so we still can use them. First, there's no place for 7+ Billion people so in such future our count will fall to early 20th century, ~1 billion, period.
So, which technologies we'll be able to restore? Also with people, early 20th century is where to aim unless we invent atmospheric electricity generator with coefficient of performance equal to 666%.
For example...
1. Telegraph and Spark Transmittors instead of mobile phones.
2. Gas flow computer, abacus and logarithmic ruler instead of PCs and Iphones.
3. CYOA books, board games, D&D 5e instead of Age of Decadence, Fallout: New Vegas and The Witcher 3 (computers are dead weight without elecricity)
4. Edison's lightbulb with carbon-based filament instead of wolfram lightbulbs.
5. Steam-powered locomotive instead of... USA still have trains?
6. Talking paper instead of music centers
7. Zeppelins!
8. Steam powered automobiles in limited use.
9. Methane-based power generators. As we say, "Not learning Math-An? Will be recycled to Methane!"
Not a whole lot will be survived, but it's not dark ages.
